We are looking for a Reagent Manufacturing Associate II, Oncology to join our growing reagent manufacturing team in support of clinical patient testing in our high throughput CLIA lab. The Reagent Manufacturing Associate II will be responsible for assisting with the manufacturing, assembly, and qualification of reagents in support of clinical laboratory operations at BillionToOne. The selected candidate will also be responsible for assisting in the troubleshooting of reagent manufacturing activities, management of sufficient reagent inventory, and operation of high-throughput automated equipment to support operations. . This position requires an individual with excellent attention to detail, effective written and verbal communication skills, the ability to multitask, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a highly collaborative team environment. The role is a full-time onsite position in Menlo Park, CA and reports to Senior Process Engineer II, Oncology. 

Responsibilities

  • Manufacture medium and high complexity reagents in a molecular manufacturing lab according to established SOPs.
  • Operation of robotic laboratory equipment and traditional lab equipment (micropipettes, liquid handlers, thermal cyclers, centrifuges, sealers, sonicator, etc.)
  • Use of traditional molecular biology processes and techniques (small volume pipetting, plating, quantitation, visual inspection)
  • Maintaining thorough, accurate and detailed documentation of all work produced, including deviations
  • Inventory management
  • Collaborate with Research and Development for the scale-up and implementation of new reagent formulations.
  • Participate in reagent troubleshooting and quality monitoring
  • Lab maintenance such as labware cleaning and equipment maintenance as needed
  • Daily completion of assigned tasks to keep manufacturing on track
  • Reagent manufacturing will primarily be operating out of Menlo Park but may require some flexibility to work out of the Union City location

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent degree in biology, chemistry, or clinical related sciences
  • At least one year of experience with molecular biology techniques in a research or clinical laboratory
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to multitask and work independently
  • Patience and flexibility
  • Previous clinical laboratory experience is preferred
  • Start-up experience
  • Experience in a cell-free DNA setting
  • Experience developing training programs and performing knowledge transfer.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Ability to effectively work in a team environment and build strong working relationships.
  • High degree of initiative and self-motivation.
