We are seeking a Junior Accountant to join our Accounting Team.

The Role
The Junior Accountant will contribute to the overall efficient operation of the accounting department and assist with effective communication of financial related information.
Accountabilities:
- Assist in the reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, and analysis of income statement.
- Complete bank account reconciliations daily for multiple accounts.
- Take ownership of select month-end processes from start to finish.
- Assist payroll processors with data entry processing.
- Update financial data in databases to ensure that information will be accurate and immediately available when needed.
- Assist with audits in compliance with reporting regulations.
- Identify and resolve financial discrepancies.
- Utilize database management systems to maintain up-to-date record keeping of financial documents.
- Provide feedback to supervisors regarding budget forecasts, resource utilization, and tax strategies.
- Prepare and present regular reports about company finances including budgets, debts, deficits, expenditures, and revenue.
- Assist with other accounting projects as needed required.
Skills
- Working knowledge of generally accepted accounting standards.
- Ability to analyze a work in process report.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables.
- Familiarity with accounting software such as Sage Intacct.
- Exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality regarding company accounts.
- Strong record keeping and organizational skills.
- Perform accurate work to the highest standards of accountancy.
- Able to complete work to deadlines.
- Driven, self-motivated, and goal oriented.
- Strong critical thinking and mathematical reasoning skills.
- Superior verbal communication skills.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting required.
- One year of experience as a Junior Accountant (preferably in construction setting) is preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Physical activity not limited to sitting, standing, walking, use hands and fingers, able to lift and or move up to 30 lbs.
