The role of the Field Application Specialist I is to provide solution-oriented customer training, implementation, technical support, and troubleshooting remotely and at customer sites for bioMerieux Industrial Applications Food Safety and Quality product lines. This position is expected play a strong role in customer retention and loyalty. The Field Application Specialist I role facilitates teamwork and cooperation, contributes to efficiency and productivity, and fosters a positive work environment.
- Coordinate and provide customer product training, implementation support, ongoing technical support
- Respond to customer needs and internal inquiries, including accurate documentation in CRM, meeting regulatory standards and requirements
- Provide consistent follow-up to meet customer satisfaction and other key performance indicators
- Provide efficient territory management, adhere to expense budget and support revenue objectives
- Travel outside of territory as needed to support overall team and departmental performance
- Complete all regulatory, departmental and product training as required in role and agreed upon with Manager
- Perform all work in compliance with company quality procedures and standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
~1 min read- Bachelor degree required microbiology, biological sciences or similar technical fields and no previous experience.
- OR HS Diploma/GED and 4 years of experience in microbiology laboratory or biological sciences experience
- Ability to remain in stationary position, either sitting or standing, for prolonged periods.
- Ability to ascend/descend stairs, ladders, ramps, and the like.
- Ability to wear PPE correctly most of the day.
- Valid US Driver's License; ability to travel by train, ride sharing/taxi, plane, automobile
Nice to Have
~1 min read- 1-3 years related microbiology laboratory or biological sciences experience (strong preference for Food Industry)

- Written Communications - including the ability to communicate technical data in written form

- Practicing time management to allocate tasks, balance priorities, and meet deadlines efficiently
- Skilled in MS Office tools to include but not limited to Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel
Advanced: demonstrates deep knowledge; manages complex tasks and integrates multiple tools independently - English fluency required and Spanish language capability is a plus
- Able to work independently
- Domestic travel required: 60% and International travel required: 5%
- Total travel: 65%
