forms, fields, workflows, and roles and permissions. Integration reliability: keeping the connections to our webstore (WooCommerce) and 3PLs (DCL, Fulfilment Solution, Stord),

Birdbuddy is on a mission to reconnect people with nature through beautifully designed smart bird feeders and companion technology. Our business combines physical product manufacturing with software recurring revenue from our connected ecosystem.
We run our business on NetSuite: finance and the monthly close, inventory and supply chain, order management and fulfillment, and the integrations that connect our webstore, 3PLs, and payment providers. We are looking for a hands-on Senior NetSuite Specialist to be our go-to expert on everything NetSuite: the person who operates the system day to day, keeps it reliable, and has the final word on how it works. When anyone at Birdbuddy needs data, wants to understand the system, or hits a discrepancy they can’t explain, you are the person they turn to.
This role combines the write side (configuration and integrations) and the read side (reporting and analysis) in one seat. You will work to the priorities set by the NetSuite Owner and to requests from the teams who use the system, keeping NetSuite stable, trustworthy, and improving. A dedicated NetSuite project manager will handle timelines, expectations, and most coordination, including external communication, so you can stay focused on the system itself.
What you will own
- Configuration: forms, fields, workflows, and roles and permissions.
- Integration reliability: keeping the connections to our webstore (WooCommerce) and 3PLs (DCL, Fulfilment Solution, Stord),and fixing them when they break.
- Reporting and analysis: building saved searches, reports, and data pulls that give Finance, Supply Chain, and Operations reliable answers.
- Technical escalation point: the deepest technical contact for NetSuite and integration partners, including any managed-services partner on retainer.
- Support and documentation: second-line support for the teams using the system, and clear runbooks so knowledge is not held in one person's head.
- Close support: partnering with Finance to make the monthly close faster and more predictable, and to reduce the error-rework loop.
- Software revenue flows: subscription revenue from the app stores and RevenueCat, deferred revenue and revenue recognition, and settlements from Amazon and payment providers.
- Release and change management: owning sandbox testing for NetSuite’s two annual upgrades, and a sandbox-first discipline for every change.
- Controls and audit support: segregation of duties, access reviews, audit trail, and PBC data pulls for lenders and auditors.
Key Qualifications
- Required. Substantial hands-on experience administering and operating Oracle NetSuite (or a comparable ERP - SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, Infor, Epicor), across both configuration and day-to-day operation.
- A working grasp of the functional domains: finance and close, inventory and supply chain, order-to-cash, and subscription/software revenue.
- Experience with ERP integrations and troubleshooting sync issues, including hands-on SuiteScript, RESTlets, and SuiteFlow — able to debug and fix scripts and workflows, not just point-and-click configuration.
- Experience with NetSuite OneWorld in a multi-subsidiary, multi-currency environment: consolidation, FX, and VAT alongside US sales tax (we run Slovenian and US entities).
- Confidence turning business questions into saved searches, reports, and clean data pulls.
- A methodical, documentation-first way of working, and the judgment to recognize when a change touches the financial statements.
- Fluent working English.
Nice to have
- Experience in a consumer products, e-commerce, or hardware business.
- Experience stabilizing an ERP after a rushed or incomplete implementation.
- Familiarity with WooCommerce, EDI, and 3PL integrations.
