Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Help set your own priorities and influence decision-making on all core cloud infrastructure and systems.
- →Own end-to-end design, delivery, and operations of medium-to-large scope cloud infrastructure initiatives, including alignment with stakeholders and risk identification
- →Demonstrates proficiency across multiple layers of AWS cloud infrastructure, including compute, networking, observability, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud security, and provides guidance to improve technical practices.
- →Execute VPC deployments and manage routing updates. Maintain and audit Security Group configurations to ensure "least privilege" access.
- →Configure and support various AWS Load Balancers (ALB, NLB). Analyze application traffic patterns to recommend the most effective load-balancing and target-type strategies.
- →Maintain Route 53 records across public and private zones. Manage DNS forwarders and resolver profiles to ensure reliable name resolution across hybrid environments.
- →Support and troubleshoot advanced connectivity components, including Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, and Global Accelerator.
- →Monitor and maintain Site-to-Site VPNs and multi-VPC peering connections.
- →Use Terraform or CloudFormation to deploy all networking resources. Contribute to and maintain automation pipelines to ensure consistent, repeatable deployments.
- →Proactively find ways to improve the observability and reliability of our systems
- →Actively mentor engineers, contribute to architectural reviews, and raise the bar for operational excellence through peer collaboration
- Bachelor's/Master's Degree in Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
- 8+ years of progressively senior experience in cloud infrastructure engineering, with a proven ability to design scalable systems, drive end-to-end initiatives, and influence cloud architecture decisions.
- 5+ years of experience with VPCs, Subnets, Route Tables, and Security Groups.
- Solid understanding of ELB (Elastic Load Balancing) and Route 53 (including private zones and record management).
- Practical experience (or strong theoretical knowledge with lab experience) in Transit Gateway and Direct Connect.
- Proficiency in writing and debugging Terraform or AWS CloudFormation scripts.
- Strong grasp of the OSI model, TCP/IP, and CIDR notation.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot connectivity issues within complex cloud environments.
- Comfortable working within a DevOps framework and collaborating with application teams to optimize network performance.
- Certifications (Preferred):
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate/Professional
- AWS Certified Advanced Networking Specialty.
- You look at the entire stack to find the needle
- You are a command-line connoisseur, linux expert, and know your networking stack
- Have solid experience of working with Linux OS and can demonstrate you possess fundamental knowledge about operating systems.
- Has delivered at least one cloud infrastructure feature or platform capability end-to-end, including planning, implementation, deployment, monitoring, and iterative improvements.
- Automating repetitive (mundane to complex) tasks to remove toil
- Building tools to standardize the Engineering process
- Be disciplined about testing across all projects
- Design and implement an IaC codebase that builds an entire company's cloud resources (Terragrunt, Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, etc)
