Responsibilities
~1 min readAs the City's General Maintenance Worker, you'll be the go-to person for keeping City facilities in top condition. Responsibilities include:
- →Performing general building and facility maintenance
- →Replacing light fixtures, bulbs, switches, and outlets
- →Changing HVAC filters and conducting routine inspections
- →Completing minor plumbing repairs
- →Painting, drywall repair, and touch-up work
- →Performing basic carpentry repairs on doors, windows, locks, cabinets, and furniture
- →Conducting preventative maintenance inspections
- →Identifying maintenance concerns and safety issues before they become major problems
- →Coordinating and overseeing contractors when specialized repairs are needed
- →Assisting with facility setup for meetings, events, and community programs
- →Managing maintenance supplies and inventory
- →Supporting emergency facility needs when necessary
Successful candidates will have:
- High school diploma or GED
- At least two years of experience in building maintenance, construction, property maintenance, handyman services, or a related field (or an equivalent combination of training and experience)
- Working knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting practices
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- A valid New Mexico driver's license
Requirements
~1 min readThis position requires regular walking, standing, bending, climbing ladders, and lifting. Candidates should be able to frequently lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally assist with heavier items.
