Job Summary
The Manufacturing Operations Analytics Intern will support the Prep Department by observing and recording time and output data associated with ingredient preparation. The role focuses on collecting accurate, consistent setup, prep, and breakdown time data to support future labor and efficiency analysis. This is a neutral, observational role and does not involve performing production labor.
In the event of an absence, position will be filled by trained personnel.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Observe ingredient preparation activities across all Prep areas and shifts.
- Collect setup, prep, and breakdown start and end times using standardized definitions.
- Record quantities prepared (lbs.) by prep type.
- Log interruptions and applicable reason codes when they occur.
- Validate entries for completeness and accuracy at the end of observation periods.
- Partner with Prep Supervisors to understand process flow without influencing execution.
- Maintain organized data files suitable for downstream analysis.
- Adhere to all safety, GMP, and sanitation requirements while on the production floor.
- Other responsibilities w/ similar skill and work conditions as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Currently pursuing a degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations, Business Analytics, or related field.
- Comfortable working in a food manufacturing environment.
- Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Ability to observe processes objectively.
- Basic Excel skills (data entry, filters).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Education and/or Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Currently enrolled at a College/University
