Responsibilities

  • Lead the safety function across a portfolio of large, active construction programs with a strong presence in electrical and infrastructure work.
  • Set the direction for company wide safety strategy, standards, training, and performance expectations.
  • Provide visible leadership to field teams, project leadership, labor partners, and senior executives to reinforce disciplined execution and sound decision making.
  • Direct incident response, investigations, root cause analysis, corrective action planning, and executive communication for serious events and near misses.
  • Oversee safety planning tools such as pre task reviews, hazard assessments, work plans, audits, inspections, and follow up actions.
  • Serve as a senior point of contact for clients, regulatory bodies, and external stakeholders on compliance, investigations, and safety performance matters.
  • Coach and develop safety managers and field personnel, building a stronger bench of safety leadership across the organization.
  • Monitor leading and lagging indicators, identify trends, and translate findings into practical action plans that improve field performance.
  • Help ensure compliance with OSHA and other applicable construction safety requirements while supporting operational goals on complex jobsites.
  • Drive a culture where training, mentoring, accountability, and continuous improvement are embedded into daily operations.
  • 10 or more years of progressive construction safety experience, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership capacity.
  • Deep experience leading safety for major infrastructure, transit, rail, power, design build, or similarly complex construction programs.
  • Strong background managing relationships with labor, field leadership, clients, executives, and regulatory agencies.
  • Extensive knowledge of OSHA requirements, investigations, incident management, regulatory interaction, and documentation practices.
  • Certified Safety Professional, CSP, required.
  • OSHA 500 Trainer Certification, required.
  • Strong experience with MTA NYCT and Port Authority environments, requirements, and stakeholder coordination.
  • Track record of building training programs, leading investigations, writing reports, mentoring teams, and improving safety planning processes.
  • Executive presence, sound judgment, and the ability to communicate clearly in high visibility situations.
