About the Role

  • Cleaning and Maintenance:
  • Perform daily cleaning tasks, including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and sanitizing surfaces.
  • Clean and maintain restrooms, break rooms, and common areas, ensuring they meet hygiene standards.
  • Handle waste disposal and recycling in accordance with facility policies.
  • Custodial Duties:
  • Conduct routine inspections of the facility to identify cleaning and maintenance needs.
  • Maintain outdoor areas, including trash pickup, snow removal, and landscaping as necessary.
  • Assist with minor repairs, such as changing light bulbs and fixing furniture.
  • Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and organization.
  • Supplies Management:
  • Monitor and restock cleaning supplies and equipment as needed.
  • Report any maintenance or safety issues to the Facilities Manager.
  • Safety and Compliance:
  • Follow safety protocols and procedures while performing custodial tasks.
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, including proper handling of cleaning chemicals.
  • Assistance and Support:
  • Assist with setup and breakdown of facilities for events, meetings, and special projects.
  • Respond to custodial requests from staff and management promptly.
  • Team Collaboration:
  • Work collaboratively with other housekeeping and facilities staff to ensure efficient operations.
  • Participate in team meetings and training sessions as required.
  • Be a leader in, and continuously improve the culture of excellence and hospitality at our facility.
  • Record Keeping:
  • Maintain logs of cleaning activities, supply inventory, and equipment maintenance.
  • Report any significant issues or recommendations for improvements to the Facilities Manager.
  • A self-motivated individual.
  • Able to build long-lasting, professional, healthy relationships.
  • Familiar with commercial equipment and operations.
  • A love and/or respect for delicious coffee.
  • Exemplary communication skills at all times.
  • Two or more years prior experience in a similar role, ideally in the food industry or a clean manufacturing environment.
  • Willingness to work holidays and weekends when needed.
  • Have basic math and computer skills.
  • Knowledge of cleaning techniques, products, and equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • The ability to stand, walk, and sit for long periods of time (at least 8 hours per day and 5 days per week)
  • The use of hands to handle or feel, and the ability to reach with hands and arms
  • The ability to stoop, kneel, or crouch
  • The ability to squat, bend, twist, and reach for items below waist level or above shoulders
  • The ability to lift, push/pull, carry, and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • The ability to listen and speak
  • The ability to climb ladders, stairs, ramps, and uneven floors and/or surfaces as needed
  • The ability to have close visual acuity to perform repetitive visual checking, counting, spotting small defects, determining accuracy of numbers and packages
  • This role takes place in a production warehouse environment and may involve exposure to environmental conditions, including elevated temperatures from roasting and processing equipment, mechanical noise, and cooler temperatures in storage areas.
