Position Summary
The GPS BI&T Analytics Operations team (Global Product Development and Supply Business Insights and Technology) is building best-in-class DevOps and MLOps infrastructure for deploying innovative AI and ML solutions that drive business value at BMS.
The Cloud Developer AI/ML, Sr. Manager – Analytics Operations will work directly with the Associate Director, Analytics Operations to engineer solutions that will efficiently operationalize AI models, agentic frameworks and other advanced analytics tools using AWS and other cloud services. This role will work closely with small, cross-functional project-driven teams that will include data scientists and business stakeholders to deliver high impact business value. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to develop custom services and UIs for building the team’s full-stack development capabilities. The candidate will also have exciting opportunities to build tools deploying the most cutting-edge technologies such as GenAI, LLMs, etc.
The successful candidate is a creative thinker with a scientific background in computer science, mathematics, engineering or other STEM field and has expertise in one or more of the following areas: distributed computing with GPUs/TPUs, AI-related cloud services, deep learning frameworks, data science, machine learning and data engineering. Previous DevOps experience is desired but not a requirement. Additionally, a successful candidate is an excellent communicator who can effectively explain complex technical information to a wide variety of stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
The Cloud Developer AI/ML, Sr. Manager – Analytics Operations will partner with business-facing stakeholders to establish core capabilities within the team, namely:
* Building DevOps infrastructure from the ground-up - Work with a team of developers to build automated and sustainable end-to-end solutions for the most advanced analytics tools.
* Define best practices and tool adoption – Establish a framework of Ops tools and best coding practices for the entire enterprise based on innovative and business value-driven use cases.
* Provide strong technical leadership – Coach junior team members on software development concepts and lead code review to ensure adoption of best practices on the team.
* Drive business value – By identifying and implementing the highest impact use cases, actively drive business insights and the adoption of advanced analytics. Establish the team as a source of innovative AND reliable enterprise tools.
Qualifications & Experience
* BA/BS in a scientific or quantitative major required; advanced degree (Master or PhD) preferred.
* 6+ years of hands-on experience in developing cloud infrastructure and/or writing backend services. Frontend experience and previous DevOps or MLOps experience a plus but not required. The ideal candidate will have a strong ability to architect scalable, effective AI/ML solutions that drive decision-making. Relevant experience in high tech or the biopharmaceutical industry preferred but not required.
* Expert coder in languages such as: Python, Java, JavaScript, C or C ++, Go, Rust, Julia. (Required).
* Version control and working with multiple team members in Git required.
* Experience deploying AI models such as LLMs and neural networks etc. to production desired.
* Experience automating software delivery and testing by writing CI/CD pipelines desired.
* Proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS (preferred), Azure, Google Cloud), containerization technologies (Kubernetes, Docker) and MLOps tools (MLflow, Kubeflow, MLOps platform) is desired.
* Knowledge of deep learning frameworks (PyTorch, Tensorflow) a plus.
* Experience with data engineering using SQL, Spark, ETL/ELT and data pipelines a plus.
* Strong project management skills with demonstrated ability to lead multiple projects and balance shifting priorities.
* Excellent interpersonal, collaborative, team-building, written and verbal communication skills to ensure effective collaborations within cross-functional teams.

The starting compensation for this job is a range in NJ is from $133,710 \- $162,000. In WA the range is $147,080 \- $178,200 , plus incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility). The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills and where the job is performed. Final, individual compensation will be decided based on demonstrated experience.
