Summary:
The Senior Director, Field Medical Analytics will lead the global strategy, development, and execution of advanced analytics capabilities that enable Bristol Myers Squibb’s Field Medical organizations to deliver data-driven insights and optimize decision-making across therapeutic areas. This role is accountable for defining the vision and roadmap for field medical analytics, integrating AI-driven solutions, and ensuring robust governance and compliance in all field analytics activities.
As a senior leader, this individual will oversee the design and implementation of analytics frameworks that support field medical engagement, clinical trial performance, and medical insights. The Senior Director will partner closely with Medical Affairs, Commercialization, Business Insights & Technology and CASA teams to ensure analytics deliver measurable impact on medical field strategy and patient outcomes.
This role requires deep expertise in medical analytics, field engagement, and advanced data science, combined with strong operational discipline and change leadership skills.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Partnership & Leadership
* Serve as a strategic advisor to US and International field medical executive leaders, understanding business priorities and challenges.
* Lead BU-aligned field medical analytics teams, ensuring solutions are tailored to each BU/TA while aligned with enterprise frameworks.
* Collaborate with senior cross-functional leaders (Commercial, Market Access, Field Excellence, Medical, IT) to align customer strategies and analytical capability investments.
* Translate business challenges into clear roadmaps for field analytics capability development, analytics integration, and AI-driven innovation.
Insights, Analytics & AI Leadership
* Oversee the generation and integration of actionable insights to inform Medical Field strategy, execution customer segmentation, impact measurement, and continuous learning.
* Partner with field and medical teams to enhance coordination, consistency, and impact of customer interactions.
* Synthesize insights into clear narratives that drive strategic decisions across business units and functions.
* Drive excellence in innovation through partnership within CASA, BI&T, and Brand teams.
* Define needs in the U.S. and Global customer engagement model to enable field personalized and intelligent experience.
* Act as a translator between BU needs and AI use case requirements, ensuring capabilities reflect real-world needs.
* Lead adoption of advanced digital tools, data platforms, and customer journey design practices to enhance field engagement effectiveness.
* Demonstrate a proven track record in leveraging AI and analytics to drive business outcomes.
* Develop and Drive AI-driven KOL and Thought Leader identification and mapping capabilities to optimize Field Medical deployment and strategic prioritization across therapeutic areas.
* Build and deploy AI-powered HCP segmentation and targeting models that enable personalized scientific engagement at scale, leveraging real-world data, claims data, and behavioral signals.
* Partner with IT and data engineering teams to enable scalable AI/ML pipelines that deliver real-time intelligence into Field Medical workflows and CRM platforms.
* Partner with field and medical teams to identify Medical Care Gaps, and measure and improve field medical engagement effectiveness and strengthen launch readiness.
Capability Building & Team Development
* Lead the development of US and Global field medical analytics capabilities, including field engagement, customer experience design, and advanced analytics.
* Establish consistent frameworks, tools, and best practices to improve effectiveness across teams and therapeutic areas.
* Coach and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability.
* Champion new ways of working and drive change management and adoption across field and home office teams.
* Demonstrated experience establishing insourcing analytics capabilities and leveraging global capability centers to optimize external consulting dependency and deliver measurable cost efficiencies.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree strongly preferred.
* Minimum 12 years of experience in medical, commercial, marketing, or insights roles within the pharmaceutical, biotech, or healthcare industry.
* Proven success influencing senior leaders and partnering with Business Unit / Therapeutic Area heads to shape commercial strategy.
* Deep expertise in customer insights, omnichannel engagement, commercial analytics, and AI-driven solutions within U.S. healthcare.
* Strong leadership experience managing large, cross-functional or matrixed teams, including medical and analytics specific resources.
* Demonstrated ability to lead complex strategic initiatives and drive organizational and AI change.
* Exceptional critical thinking, problem-solving, and creative solution development skills.
* Demonstrable results in team development, including recognition, feedback, and organizational design.
* Highly adaptable mindset, balancing growth orientation with attention to detail and execution excellence.
* Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including field-based customer-facing roles.
* Expertise in predictive modeling, machine learning, and Agentic AI applications for medical decision-making.
* Strong knowledge of data storytelling and visualization techniques to communicate complex insights effectively.
* Experience with cloud-based data platforms and advanced analytics environments.
* Familiarity with natural language processing (NLP) and conversational analytics for insight generation.
* Ability to operationalize AI-driven personalization and segmentation logic within medical engagement strategies.
* Skilled in change management and capability enablement, including training and adoption programs.
* Understanding of compliance, legal and global regulatory requirements for medical data usage and analytics compliance.
* Demonstrated proficiency in leveraging a broad range of data assets — including primary market research, claims data, EMR/EHR, specialty pharmacy, and syndicated sources — to support field analytics across customer segmentation, performance measurement, and medical engagement optimization.

Compensation Overview:
Princeton - NJ - US: $229,500 - $278,100
The starting compensation range(s) for this role are listed above for a full-time employee (FTE) basis. Additional incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility) may be available. The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills, where the job is performed, the employee’s work schedule, job-related knowledge, and experience. Final, individual compensation will be decided based on demonstrated experience.

Paid Time Off
* US Exempt Employees: flexible time off (unlimited, with manager approval, 11 paid national holidays (not applicable to employees in Phoenix, AZ, Puerto Rico or Rayzebio employees)
* Phoenix, AZ, Puerto Rico and Rayzebio Exempt, Non-Exempt, Hourly Employees: 160 hours annual paid vacation for new hires with manager approval, 11 national holidays, and 3 optional holidays
Based on eligibility*, additional time off for employees may include unlimited paid sick time, up to 2 paid volunteer days per year, summer hours flexibility, leaves of absence for medical, personal, parental, caregiver, bereavement, and military needs and an annual Global Shutdown between Christmas and New Years Day.
All global employees full and part-time who are actively employed at and paid directly by BMS at the end of the calendar year are eligible to take advantage of the Global Shutdown.
*Eligibility Disclosure: The summer hours program is for United States (U.S.) office-based employees due to the unique nature of their work. Summer hours are generally not available for field sales and manufacturing operations and may also be limited for the capability centers. Employees in remote-by-design or lab-based roles may be eligible for summer hours, depending on the nature of their work, and should discuss eligibility with their manager. Employees covered under a collective bargaining agreement should consult that document to determine if they are eligible. Contractors, leased workers and other service providers are not eligible to participate in the program.

On-site Protocol
BMS has an occupancy structure that determines where an employee is required to conduct their work. This structure includes site-essential, site-by-design, field-based and remote-by-design jobs. The occupancy type that you are assigned is determined by the nature and responsibilities of your role:
Site-essential roles require 100% of shifts onsite at your assigned facility. Site-by-design roles may be eligible for a hybrid work model with at least 50% onsite at your assigned facility.
