Location: Minneapolis, MN
Hires local to the Twin Cities Metro-Area can anticipate an in-office component of 1-2 days a week, employed with Bold Orange. If this position lists, “Open to Remote”, hires outside of the metro area can anticipate travel to our Minneapolis, MN office on an as-requested basis. Position Summary:

The Senior Media Strategist will play a pivotal role on the Bold Orange media team, driving the strategy behind paid media efforts for our clients. You excel at building and recommending clients’ omnichannel media and providing campaign strategy guidance from ideation to implementation. You constantly look for opportunities to improve the model or framework you are working with and hungry for the next opportunity to learn and grow. You will often decide “what’s next” on projects and interact regularly with clients to derive a clear understanding of customer business needs/priorities. Adept at both relationship building and problem solving, you understand the importance of keeping the client’s objectives front of mind - and you're constantly seeking potential new channels and strategies to keep us ahead of industry trends.  We want to see your curiosity come to life at Bold Orange. Responsibilities

  • Develop, launch, and optimize cross-channel media strategies via a range of digital platforms and mediums
  • Own the build-out of complex campaigns and help build best practices for campaign creation across the team
  • Execute, report, and continuously optimize digital marketing campaigns across channels such as paid search, paid social, display advertising, and remarketing
  • Implement and manage programmatic buys across multiple demand-side platforms and social media platforms
  • Serve as an expert on all aspects of programmatic planning and campaign management processes, RTB, exchanges, and ad networks
  • Expertly execute advanced remarketing campaigns
  • Responsible for budget adherence and results across all platforms
  • Develop testing strategies and roadmaps across campaign efforts to ensure decisions and optimizations are data and market driven
  • Drive strategic alignment with all media stakeholders to ensure the client’s strategic approach is integrated into all paid media, including content, messaging, and creative
  • Execute optimization strategies through automation tools and through platform editor/interfaces to meet or exceed user and client goals
  • Synthesize larger amounts of information, understanding what’s needed and where to find it, to guide strategy and decision-making
  • Partner with clients to develop paid media strategies that support client business objectives
  • Drive client narrative integrating organic media channels and omnichannel analytics
  • Present and make recommendations to clients with varying levels of digital marketing and business experience, in an educational and support services capacity
  • Stay informed on the latest thinking and best practices around digital marketing trends, media buying, and attribution to identify potential new channels and strategies to keep us ahead
  • Easily reimagine what “media” means in a rapidly changing world, staying current with emerging trends
  • Utilize media tools and platforms to their highest functionality, and may participate in new tool exploration

Requirements

  • Minimum of five years’ experience (agency preferred) or equivalent, with demonstrated experience mentoring or coaching junior team members
  • Vast experience in broad media planning/channels, digital and otherwise, and national campaign management
  • Data-driven mindset, with the ability to synthesize large volumes of information into clear insights and recommendations
  • Strong decision-making, organization, time-management, planning, and problem-solving skills
  • Equal parts big thinker and big doer
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing and the implications that technology has on developing strategies and execution plans
  • Solid grasp of how paid media channels work together to create a cohesive, personalized marketing program for the customer (not just knowledge of one channel)
  • Ability to manage multiple campaigns in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to plan, negotiate, and purchase print, OOH, and small-scale broadcast as needed
  • Excellent communication skills, including experience delegating to and coaching junior team members
  • Willingness to earn or current certification in the following: Google Ads, Meta Blueprint, Microsoft Ads
  • Equivalent level expertise or certification in Google Analytics (GA4)
  • Solid understanding of Google Tag Manager
  • Ability to persuasively explain and justify paid media strategies and recommendations
  • Ease and comfort presenting strong data-driven solutions to an audience of varying levels of experience
  • Desire to collaborate and partner with multiple internal disciplines and agency experts to ensure diverse, holistic customer experience solutions
