The Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in leading our Waltham retail location, helping deliver an authentic, high-energy customer experience rooted in Boston Scally’s bold, hardworking spirit.
This is a hands-on leadership role focused on sales, team development, and daily operations. As a key representative of the brand, you’ll help foster a welcoming, community-driven environment where customers feel connected to Boston Scally and proud to wear it.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a growing brand, help shape the in-store experience, and build strong retail operations from the ground up.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- Lead by example on the sales floor, delivering exceptional, engaging customer service
- Build strong relationships with customers and foster a sense of community
- Act as a brand ambassador by actively wearing, promoting, and educating customers on products
- Support achievement of sales, conversion, and productivity goals
- Support daily store operations and assume leadership responsibilities in the Store Manager’s absence
- Maintain a clean, organized, and visually compelling store environment
- Assist with scheduling, store coverage, and operational readiness
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
- Execute visual merchandising and floor sets aligned with brand storytelling
- Assist with inventory management, including receiving, restocking, and organization
- Participate in cycle counts, physical inventory, and reconciliations
- Support hiring, onboarding, training, and coaching of store associates
- Help create a positive, collaborative, and performance-driven team culture
- Provide feedback and insights to improve team effectiveness and store performance
- Monitor sales trends and product performance, sharing insights with leadership
- Stay informed on local market trends, competitors, and community opportunities
- Partner with cross-functional teams (E-Commerce, Marketing, Customer Experience) to support a seamless omnichannel experience
- 1–3 years of retail experience; leadership or keyholder experience preferred
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to represent the brand authentically
- Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced retail environment
- Passion for streetwear, fashion, and brand storytelling
- Appreciation for Boston culture and the Boston Scally brand
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred
Requirements
~1 min read- Ability to stand and move for extended periods during shifts
- Comfortable lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs
- Ability to work both on the sales floor and in stockroom environments
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and peak retail periods
