The Senior Director, Global Functions Controller & Risk Management leads financial strategy, reporting, controls, and business partnership for eight Executive Committee organizations, including IT, HR/Communications, Legal/Compliance, Corporate Finance, and GBS, overseeing approximately $1B in global spend. The role also provides financial leadership for major enterprise programs including AI, Magellan, and Risk Management.
As part of Global Controllership, this leader oversees the full financial picture for the global functions and partners with the controllership to ensure we are optimizing our functional spend globally.
At Boston Scientific, we value collaboration and synergy. This role follows a hybrid work model requiring employees to be in our Marlborough office at least three days per week. Your responsibilities will include:
* Business Partnering and Decision Support \- Serve as a trusted advisor on major operating decisions. Lead operating plans, budgets, forecasts, and business reviews, and translate results into clear actions that support growth and profitability. Support the functions in external vendor negotiations to optimize contract pricing. Serve as a key member of various Executive Committee leadership teams.
* Financial Reporting \- Deliver timely, accurate, and actionable management reporting to functional leaders and key corporate stakeholders.
* Continuous Improvement, Productivity and Innovation \- Drive financial plans that improve productivity, reduce cost, increase efficiency, and expand business value. Champion a culture of innovation and continuous improvement across the supported functions.
* Talent Development \- Lead and develop a high-performing team of approximately 20 people. Build leadership capability, strengthen succession pipelines, and foster a culture of accountability, growth, and recognition.
* Communication \- Communicate with clarity and focus across executive, functional, regional, and business stakeholders.
* Integrity \- Model the highest standards of ethics, judgment, and accountability.
Required qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
* Minimum of 15 years' experience in financial management and strategic leadership.
* Strong ability to assess financial performance drivers, lead planning processes, and present insights to diverse stakeholders.
* Demonstrated ability to lead change and influence at all levels of the organization.
* Strong spreadsheet and presentation software skills.
Preferred qualifications:
* MBA and/or CPA.
* Proven leadership across individual, project, and team settings.
* Sound judgment and strong decision-making skills.
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
* Ability to perform under pressure and meet critical financial deadlines.
* Proven ability to build trust with key internal and external stakeholders.
* Highest standards of personal and professional ethics and integrity.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage all levels of the organization.

The anticipated compensation listed above and the value of core and optional employee benefits offered by Boston Scientific (BSC) – see www.bscbenefitsconnect.com—will vary based on actual location of the position and other pertinent factors considered in determining actual compensation for the role. Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.
Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
