Technical Program Director/Leader - (Dallas, TX)
Quick Summary
We are looking for a Technical Program Director based in Dallas, Texas, to own the strategic direction and end-to-end delivery of a portfolio of modern, AI-powered full-stack engagements. You will be physically present with our client executives — building enduring trust, shaping the long-term roadmap, and acting as the senior accountable leader to the people who sign the check.
This is a senior leadership role that goes beyond program management. You will sit at the intersection of executive client relationships, engineering leadership, and practice growth — owning multi-million-dollar engagements, leading a layered delivery organization (program managers, technical project managers, and scrum masters), and shaping how we deliver as a firm. You bring the technical credibility to lead engineering-heavy programs, the executive presence to operate as a peer to client C-suite, and the commercial instincts to grow accounts.
You are someone who genuinely wants to understand the business — the why behind every initiative — so that the practice is seen not as a vendor, but as an indispensable strategic partner. You are comfortable in enterprise environments where core platforms like SAP and Salesforce sit alongside modern, custom-built, AI-native software.
- Serve as the senior accountable leader for a portfolio of strategic client engagements, with executive-level relationships across the C-suite and senior business stakeholders
- Maintain a strong on-site presence in Dallas to deepen trust and stay close to client priorities, pressures, and political dynamics
- Shape multi-quarter roadmaps in partnership with client executives — connecting delivery outcomes to measurable business value
- Identify, shape, and close expansion opportunities within existing accounts; partner with sales and practice leadership on new pursuits, SOWs, and commercial structuring
- Own commercial health of the portfolio — margin, utilization, forecast accuracy, and renewal — and report on it at the executive level
- Lead a multi-layered delivery organization: program managers, technical project managers, scrum masters, and engagement leads across multiple concurrent workstreams
- Set the operating model for delivery across the portfolio — cadence, governance, escalation paths, and quality bars — and hold the organization to it
- Own portfolio-level roadmaps, release trains, cross-program dependencies, and resource allocation across squads and platforms
- Anticipate and resolve systemic delivery risks before they reach the client; turn recurring issues into structural fixes, not one-off heroics
- Mentor and grow the next generation of delivery leaders — coaching TPMs and PMs into senior, client-facing roles
- Partner with engineering leadership on architectural direction across the full stack: TanStack Router/Query/Form, React 19, Tailwind CSS, FastAPI, Python 3.11+, Poetry
- Guide decisions on Supabase (Postgres, Auth, Storage) and Row-Level Security (RLS), particularly where they intersect with multi-tenant, enterprise data access requirements
- Provide oversight on AI/ML integration strategy — Claude API usage, prompt caching, structured tool use, and token economics — ensuring solutions are scalable, cost-aware, and production-grade
- Govern infrastructure direction with the platform team — Pulumi IaC, Azure resource strategy, environment topology, and cost management
- Steer integration strategy across enterprise core platforms (SAP, Salesforce, and adjacent systems) and custom-built software workstreams
- Define and continuously raise the bar on delivery standards: technical specs, decision logs, risk and RAID registers, executive status reporting, and post-engagement reviews
- Own program-level governance forums — steering committees, executive readouts, and quarterly business reviews
- Champion security and compliance posture across the portfolio, particularly around Supabase RLS, auth flows, and data handling for enterprise clients
- Oversee UAT, QA, and release governance across programs; ensure go-live readiness and post-launch hyper-care
- Manage strategic vendor and platform relationships (Supabase, Anthropic, Azure, and core platform partners)
- Contribute to practice growth: hiring, capability building, playbooks, reusable assets, and thought leadership
- Must be based in or willing to relocate to the Dallas, Texas area — regular on-site executive presence is non-negotiable
- 12+ years of progressive experience in technical program management, delivery leadership, or engagement management within a client-facing or consulting environment
- 5+ years leading other delivery leaders — program managers and technical project managers — not just engineers or individual scrum teams
- Demonstrated track record of owning multi-million-dollar engagements or portfolios end-to-end, including commercial accountability (margin, growth, renewal)
- Executive presence and gravitas — proven ability to operate as a peer to client C-suite, run steering committees, and represent the practice in high-stakes settings
- Deep business curiosity — you ask why before how, and use that context to position your team as a trusted advisor rather than an order-taker
- Familiarity with enterprise core platforms such as SAP, Salesforce, or similar — including how custom software integrates with or operates alongside these systems in large organizations
- Strong command of Agile/Scrum at scale and modern delivery tooling (Jira, Linear, Notion, or equivalent)
Comfortable operating in fast-paced, ambiguous, multi-stakeholder environments where you must set direction with incomplete information
- Track record overseeing programs built on modern full-stack web technologies (React ecosystem, Python backends)
- Working knowledge of cloud infrastructure — Azure preferred; conceptual fluency with IaC (Pulumi, Terraform, or equivalent)
- Solid grasp of relational databases and auth systems — Postgres, Supabase, or similar
- Meaningful exposure to LLM/AI API integrations — token economics, prompt engineering, structured outputs, and the operational realities of running AI in production
- Prior experience as a Client Partner, Engagement Director, Practice Lead, or Delivery Director within a consulting or services firm
- Experience standing up or scaling a delivery practice — playbooks, hiring frameworks, capability ladders
- Hands-on familiarity with TanStack Router, Query, or Form in production React applications
- Familiarity with FastAPI and Python dependency management via Poetry
- Experience with Supabase Row-Level Security (RLS) and multi-tenant data architectures
- Prior work on products built on Claude API or other LLM SDKs — including prompt caching and tool-use patterns
- Background in DevOps or platform engineering — CI/CD, containerization, Azure resource management
- Experience with Pulumi or infrastructure-as-code in a cloud environment
- PgMP, PMP, PMI-ACP, SAFe, or equivalent certification is a plus (not required)
