As a key member of the Operations team, the Maintenance Specialist is responsible for assisting and performing all facility maintenance and repair needs. Coordinate, monitor, and provide daily Facilities operations to ensure buildings and grounds are in good working order to meet the needs of staff, clients, residents, and guests. Facilitate timely and quality maintenance/repair and improvements related to facilities, including but not limited to: HVAC, security/alarm systems, plumbing, electrical carpentry, furniture, appliances, and kitchen equipment. Work with campus staff, program directors and outside contractors to ensure good housekeeping and safety practices.
Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Perform plumbing, mechanical, electrical, and carpentry tasks to meet planned goals.
- As needed, serve as team lead on maintenance and housekeeping functions and train/mentor team on basic and more complex skills.
- Provide vendor coordination with campus staff, including but not limited to advising on maintenance required and obtaining quotes for approval and scheduling.
- Provide general support to supervisor as needed with special projects.
- As needed, assist with monitoring invoices and billing processes, work-order tracking, and vendor follow-up and variety of reports.
- Maintain detailed list of equipment and ensure information is maintained in software (“In Check”).
- Support fire safety. Must obtain FDNY certification as an F-04 Fire Guard.
- Coordinate the process to keep all buildings complaint – facilitate monthly and annual inspections of emergency lighting, elevators, sprinkler system inspections, etc.
- Communicate safety precautions to employees and others. Plan and implement meetings at each site to instruct and inform the facilities and program staff on the proper emergency procedures to follow, i.e., water shut down, electrical panels, sewage and drain issues, etc.
Schedule: 7:00am-3:30pm
Requires availability for days, nights, evenings, weekends, and holiday work hours as assigned.
Requirements:
- Embrace's the organization’s Statement of Faith.
- BA/BS or equivalent education and experience.
- 4+ years’ field-specific training and experience.
- Duties include reaching, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling and ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Knowledge of Office technology, including MS Office Suite.
Preferred:
- Driver’s license.
- F04 (fire safety, guard certificate).
- NCI Certification.
- OSHA Certification.
Salary commensurate with relevant education & experience: $20.19-$24.04
