Electromechanical Technician – Chilca Project
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Electromechanical Technician to join our team in Chilca.
In this role, you will be responsible for executing preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance programs and responding to breakdowns in a foundry environment. You will help keep machinery and plant equipment running reliably, avoid unplanned stoppages and continuously contribute to improving the overall equipment effectiveness (OEE). You will also support the development of work instructions aligned with EH&S policies, participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement groups and maintain accurate maintenance records and equipment history.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Keep foundry machinery and equipment running smoothly, avoiding stoppages and maximizing availability and reliability.
- →Execute electromechanical maintenance activities in a way that ensures reliable repairs, effective preventive measures and increased plant efficiency.
- →Comply with the daily schedule of maintenance work orders and support the development of work instructions that comply with EH&S policies and procedures.
- →Advise others on technical aspects of plant and equipment, including performance and possible improvement modifications, and propose improvements to enhance equipment reliability.
- →Participate in root cause analysis and follow-up action plans, continuous improvement initiatives and cost-reduction strategies.
- →Maintain equipment records and maintenance history and analyze this data on a weekly and monthly basis to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- →Actively demonstrate that safety is your number one priority, role model a safer and healthier approach to productive work and ensure full implementation of Safety & Sustainability systems in your work area, including work completed by subcontractors.
- Qualifications: Mechanical or Electrical Qualification (Technician) or equivalent technical degree.
- Experience: At least 2 years’ experience in commissioning and installation of heavy-duty equipment. Experience executing effective preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance programs in foundries or steel making plants or similar industrial environments.
- Technical Skills and Knowledge: Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and instructions, including P&ID (Piping and Instrumentation Diagram) and power and control schemes.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to support or lead others in applying them.
Good knowledge of electrical safety and electrical grounding. - Background in the industry: Experience in industrial, manufacturing, foundry is highly valued.
- Language skills: Intermediate or conversational level in English is valued but not mandatory.
