We are seeking an HR & Benefits Advisor to support our Mont-Joli site and, where required, other Mining locations across North America.
This is a hands-on HR Services role suited to someone who is organised, detail-focused and comfortable supporting employees, leaders, payroll, benefits providers and internal HR teams.
This is an onsite fixed-term parental leave contract until April 2027, based at our Mont-Joli facility.
About the role
As HR & Benefits Advisor, you will support a broad range of HR administration, employee lifecycle, benefits, payroll coordination and recruitment activities.
You will work closely with the HR Business Partner, HR Services Lead, Payroll Specialists and site leaders to ensure employee information, documentation, benefits processes and HR systems are accurate, compliant and well managed.
Your work will help keep the site supported, employees informed and HR processes running smoothly.
You will be responsible for
- Preparing HR documentation for new hires, changes, layoffs, terminations and other employee lifecycle activities.
- Maintaining accurate employee records across HR, payroll, benefits and filing systems.
- Administering benefits, pension and disability-related processes, including employee enquiries, provider updates and annual reconciliations.
- Coordinating with Payroll, IT, Safety and other internal teams to support employee changes, onboarding and access requirements.
- Supporting recruitment activity, including job postings, interview coordination, pre-screening and onboarding checks.
- Tracking probation periods, training completion and other HR reporting requirements.
- Supporting finance, audit, invoice coding and purchase order activities where required.
- Contributing to HR projects, process improvements and documentation updates.
You will bring
- Fluency in French and English is eseential
- Previous experience in an HR Administrator, HR Assistant, Benefits Administrator or similar HR support role.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage confidential information with care.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- A practical, service-focused approach when supporting employees, leaders and internal teams.
Experience supporting multi-site operations or working with Canadian benefits, pension or payroll systems will be highly regarded.
