Veterinary Assistant

• →Provide compassionate care to patients and clients
• →Assist veterinarians during examinations
• →Prepare examination rooms for appointments
• →Perform basic laboratory tests such as blood draws and urinalysis
• →Keep accurate medical records in accordance with hospital policy
• →Assist with client education on topics such as nutrition, grooming, and basic healthcare
• →Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians
• →Fill prescribed medications
• →Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic and equipment
• →Stock clinic exam rooms
• →Build initial rapport and long-term relationships with both pets and clients, successfully communicate plans and estimates to owners
• →Communicate within the team, proactively advocating for patient needs
• →Safe, low stress, and compassionate handling and restraint
• →Various housekeeping duties (laundry, dishes, cleaning kennels, etc.)
• →Walk, feed, and pick up after the animals

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Truly enjoy working with animals and being able to deal with them even when they are stressed, ill or in pain. Dedication to safety for all parties involved.
• Must have a positive attitude and be a team player.
• Strong work ethic and track record of being reliable.
• Willingness to learn new skills and techniques.
