In this exciting role you will join our growing offshore bookkeeping team in the Philippines. BrightIron works with exciting and innovative growth technology companies throughout Canada to provide financial leadership and become a trusted advisor to enable them to grow and achieve their objectives.

Since we are a client serving, fully remote company, we’re looking for an individual who is organized, adaptable, enjoys collaborating and is comfortable working with different technologies designed to help you succeed in your role. You must also have good time management and problem-solving abilities with a positive attitude.
What will you do?
- Full cycle bookkeeping for BrightIron clients in their accounting software (QuickBooks Online, Xero) on an accrual basis.
- Maintain the general ledger for clients in their accounting software.
- Create monthly account reconciliations and continuities for all balance sheet accounts, and select P&L accounts.
- Follow documented bookkeeping SOPs and flag recurring issues for process improvement.
- Work Collaboratively and develop and maintain relationship with clients, and BrightIron team members.
- Collaborate with Canadian BrightIron team members to ensure smooth handoffs and minimal rework.

- Assist with various ad-hoc client requests.
Ideally, you have:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting working with Canadian or US clients.
- Experience using QuickBooks Online and/or Xero and proficient in using Excel.
- Experience working in a client serving accounting role.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal), including fluency in English.
- High degree of comfort working with different technologies.
- Excellent time management and self-management skills.
- Solid problem solving and analysis skills.
- High standards of ethics and confidentiality to handle sensitive information.
- Ability to exercise good judgement, show initiative and be proactive.
- Ability to build strong connections with clients and team members.
