Role Description & Purpose
We are seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking professional to drive the continuous improvement of product and service delivery, ensuring our offerings consistently meet customer needs while maintaining the highest standards of quality and impact. This role is central to supporting market performance by strengthening proposition effectiveness and achieving product and performance targets.
You will lead on ensuring consistency in the delivery of both new and existing products and services, with a strong emphasis on teaching excellence. A key focus will be the delivery of face-to-face courses and their effective integration with assessment, enhancing teaching performance and ensuring outstanding standards across teaching, learning and assessment environments. Particular attention will be given to creating engaging, high-quality experiences for learners, including young learners.
Working within the English and Examinations Strategic Business Unit, you will contribute to a global mission that builds trust in the UK by sharing the strengths of its education systems, governance and culture. This work enables people worldwide to access life-changing education and employment opportunities through English language learning and internationally recognised UK qualifications and skills, while also promoting cross-cultural understanding and communication.
As part of a commercially driven, global organisation, you will collaborate closely with Proposition, Network and Functional teams to deliver integrated learning and assessment solutions aligned to customer and strategic needs. You will support the translation of global strategy into local market success, ensuring operational delivery is efficient, effective and responsive.

Role Accountabilities
In this role, you will enhance the quality and consistency of our teaching, products and services, with a clear focus on young learners. You will guide and support teachers to continuously improve performance, creating engaging and impactful learning experiences for young learners. You will play a key role in delivering Teaching Excellence initiatives, including teaching standards, observation frameworks and quality plans, while using performance data and feedback to drive ongoing improvement. You will design and deliver targeted learning and development for academic teams, help identify and develop teaching talent, and promote the sharing of best practice. You will also contribute to safeguarding, inclusion and SEND priorities, ensuring a safe and supportive learning environment, alongside supporting thought leadership activity in learning and assessment.
You will oversee the implementation of products and services, ensuring consistent and efficient delivery, particularly across young learner programmes. This includes contributing to product development and supporting project delivery where required. You will monitor performance against targets, contribute to reporting and action planning, and support continuous improvement through the rollout and evaluation of new products and pilots.
Bringing strong awareness of market trends and customer needs, especially within young learner segments, you will help inform marketing strategies and identify opportunities for growth and impact. As part of the market leadership team, you will represent teaching and learner experience while supporting team capability through coaching and development. Working closely with Proposition, Product and Teaching Excellence teams, you will ensure that innovative, evidence-based approaches to pedagogy and assessment are effectively embedded, supporting high standards across all centres.
You will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to enhance outcomes and ensure compliance with organisational policies. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about teaching excellence and delivering meaningful global impact for young learners.
Qualifications & Experience

Essential Experience and Skills
* Strong background in English language teaching, assessment and academic leadership, particularly within young learner contexts
* Demonstrated experience in an English language learning management or assessment development role, with a strong focus on young learners
* Proven ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders across multiple sites and countries to achieve shared objectives
* Experience in coordinating, supervising or influencing others, with a track record of success in an international education environment
* Fluent English at C2 level
Essential Experience and Qualifications
* TEFL-Q (DELTA from Cambridge / DipTESOL from Trinity College London).) or a British Council recognised equivalent qualification
* TYLEC or an equivalent Young Learner qualification
* Undergraduate degree or equivalent professional experience
Desirable Experience and Qualifications
* Master’s degree in English Language Teaching, Assessment or a related field
* Experience using data, dashboards and customer insights to drive improvements in customer experience and business performance
Important Information
* Location: the position is based in Cairo, Egypt.
* Contract Type: This is a two-year fixed term contract, full-time position.
* Salary: British Council Pay band: T5 Teacher Pay Range
* Benefits: Annual paid leave is 35 days plus public holidays. TB completed
* Right to Work: The candidates must have legal right to live and work in Egypt.
* Background Screening: all successful candidates are obliged to undergo comprehensive background screening
