The Department for Education has announced that the British Council is set to take on the role of National Agency for Erasmus+.
In December the UK and EU arrived at a political agreement that the UK would rejoin the Erasmus+ scheme in 2027. That agreement has now been legally formalised under the EU-UK Trade and Cooperation Agreement.
The British Council has a longstanding commitment to supporting international exchange. It was a lead partner in the Erasmus+ UK National Agency from 2014-20, where Erasmus+ made a significant contribution to the UK's cultural relations activities, funding 8,091 projects, engaging 583,757 UK participants, and awarding around €1.1 billion to UK organisations.
Pay Band: Grade 6
Salary: £25,520 gross per annum plus £3,300 per annum London Market Allowance for those in the London area only.
Contract Duration: 2 Year Fixed Term Contract with possibility of extension
Location: Stratford

Role Purpose:
To support the delivery of Erasmus+ marketing and communications activity through effective coordination, administration and operational support across campaigns, events, digital activity and reporting. The role supports integrated marketing delivery across the full programme lifecycle, helping to ensure activity is well coordinated, audience-focused and aligned to programme objectives.
The role works flexibly across the Erasmus+ marketing team, supporting shared priorities and contributing to effective campaign delivery, stakeholder engagement and performance tracking.
Main Responsibilities:
* Supports the Marketing Managers to execute marketing plans for Erasmus+.
* Supports the coordination and delivery of marketing campaigns and communications activity across channels.
* Assists with implementation of campaign plans, timelines and schedules.
* Applies professional marketing expertise to develop and enhance Erasmus+ marketing plans and approaches.
* Applies core technical and professional knowledge to identify and assess current state of marketing, suggests opportunities for improvement and supports the development of new or improved practice to drive business growth and reduce duplication.
* Provides proactive professional advice and support to colleagues to ensure local, specific requirements are compliant with marketing policy, process and governance.
* Proactively pursues an annual cycle of formally recognised Continuing Professional Development to maintain and deepen their professional expertise.
* Supports coordination with internal stakeholders, partners and suppliers.
* Responds to routine queries and supports effective communication across teams.
* Works collaboratively and flexibly across the Erasmus+ marketing team, contributing to shared objectives and supporting wider marketing activity as required.
* Supports day-to-day administration and coordination of marketing activity and maintains organised systems and documentation to support efficient delivery.
* Supports budget tracking and procurement processes using agreed systems and processes.
Role Specific Knowledge & Experience:
Essential
* Experience in delivering marketing and communications strategies and plans within a large and complex organisation
* Experience in the design and delivery of plans to support programmes / products
* A keen eye for detail, great measurement, and post campaign analysis skills.
Desirable
* Experience in a global or international organisation
* Planning and delivering events (online and F2F)
* Scheduling and reporting
* Setting up and managing workflows
* Social media management (paid and organic)
* Content generation (e.g. copywriting)
* Relevant external professional organisations e.g. CIM, Melcrum, GCN, CIPR, WOMMA etc. (or equivalent experience)
Specific Requirements
* Relevant Degree e.g. marketing or demonstrable equivalent professional experience.
