Role Purpose To support staff in delivering high-quality learning experiences for young learners (ages 3–17) while ensuring a safe, secure environment across our Teaching Centre and partner schools. The role also upholds and reinforces Child Protection policies, ensuring they are consistently followed by staff and customers. Main Accountabilities: To support the British Council Child Protection Strategy by actively supervising young learners across British Council and partner school premises before, during, and after classes. This includes managing arrival and departure processes, assisting with parent duty, monitoring attendance, and supervising break times, lunch periods, and class transitions to ensure a safe, orderly environment. The role also involves ensuring young learners, parents, and staff adhere to British Council roles, responsibilities, and site rules, including preventing access to restricted areas and maintaining positive behaviour at all times. The role requires close collaboration with teaching and management teams, including reporting classroom or welfare concerns, supporting students who are unwell, and communicating with Senior Teachers, ATCMs, and duty staff as needed. A strong commitment to safeguarding is essential, with strict adherence to Child Protection policies and procedures in all interactions and situations. In addition, the role supports the smooth running of operations by assisting with the setup and pack-down of partner school sites, contributing to administrative tasks when required, and providing support during classroom activities where needed. Qualifications & Skills Essential * English / French CEF level B2/C1 * BAC or equivalent school-leaving certificate * Working with children in a school or out of school envirmonment Desirable * First aid training * BAFA (brevet d’aptitude aux fonctions d’animateur) Important Information * Working Pattern & Location: This role involves working across British Council partner schools in the Île-de-France region, with regular travel between sites. The position requires availability during non-standard working hours, including evenings, Saturdays, and school holiday periods. The standard working pattern is Wednesdays and Saturdays: Wednesdays: 08:00–17:00 or 13:00–20:00 (depending on centre schedule) Saturdays: 08:00–17:00 A detailed schedule will be provided for each assigned centre. * Contract duration: Indefinite * Contract type: Hourly Paid * Location: France - Paris * Hourly rate: €12.51 * Closing date: 25 June 2026 This role is only open for candidates who have the legal right to live and work and are currently based in the job location.
