* Salary: 142, 840 Monthly Gross Salary
Role Purpose:
* To promote and contribute towards the effective delivery of The British Council’s Safeguarding agendas across Sri Lanka British Council teaching centres and operations.
* To aid the country safeguarding working group on the management, implementation, of the British Council Safeguarding agendas and country safeguarding action plan.
* To support responding and managing the incidents related to Safeguarding in Teaching Centres and Operations – Sri Lanka.
Main Accountabilities:
* Act as the designated contact for all safeguarding and child protection concerns in teaching centres.
* Advise and support teaching and operations staff in proportionate and timely responses to concerns; escalate any adult safeguarding or SEAH (sexual exploitation, abuse and harassment) concerns to the Regional Safeguarding Manager – South Asia.
* Work with TC focal points to develop and implement preventative safeguarding measures.
* Conduct risk assessments according to safeguarding policies.
* Support the delivery of safeguarding refresher training for TC staff, Teachers, suppliers, and partners involved in teaching activities.
* Attend Safeguarding Working Group monthly meetings.
* Meet monthly with the Regional Safeguarding Manager – South Asia to review case logs, evaluate response mechanisms, and agree on formal reporting into global safeguarding.
* Support safeguarding inquiries within Sri Lanka when required with Regional Safeguarding Manager (RSM).
Role specific knowledge and experience:
Minimum/essential
* Working knowledge on areas covering child protection, safeguarding and SEAH (sexual exploitation, abuse and harassment)
* Proven track record of at least three year’s working experience
Desirable
* Experience of working on child abuse, safeguarding concerns
* Experience in working with children and adults at risk

The British Council systems and global processes operate in English. Written and verbal proficiency in English is required”
