Summary:
In the Field Service Trainee position, you are in a primarily field-based, customer-facing role. You will be responsible for assisting with the Field Service Technician in maintenance, repair, delivery, installation, and/or exchange of all Brown Foodservice beverage, chemical, and commercial kitchen equipment to maximize customer satisfaction and sales. Equipment may include fountain beverage, cappuccino, tea and coffee dispensing equipment as well as restaurant chemical dispensing equipment and commercial fryers and dishwashers. Working out of our Louisa, KY facility, you will be an essential part of our team that has been servicing customers and delivering fine foods since 1942.

In the Field Service Trainee position, you are in a primarily field-based, customer-facing role. You will be responsible for assisting with the Field Service Technician in maintenance, repair, delivery, installation, and/or exchange of all Brown Foodservice beverage, chemical, and commercial kitchen equipment to maximize customer satisfaction and sales. Equipment may include fountain beverage, cappuccino, tea and coffee dispensing equipment as well as restaurant chemical dispensing equipment and commercial fryers and dishwashers. Working out of our Louisa, KY facility, you will be an essential part of our team that has been servicing customers and delivering fine foods since 1942.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with scheduled equipment installations, preventative maintenance, and service for our customers.
- Collaborate with other Field Service team members and outside sales representatives as needed.
- Provide quality customer service including driving to customer locations to deliver and/or repair equipment.
- Assist in delivery, exchange and moving of beverage equipment.
- Load and unload beverage equipment for delivery and/or return.
- Communicate with customers and supervisors regarding delivery and pick up status.
- Assist with regular cycle counts on parts and equipment inventory.
- Ensure sufficient parts inventory is maintained on company vehicle and replenished as needed.
- Assist with rebuild and repair parts and equipment.
- Maintain clean and safe work area.
- Perform duties based on a flexible schedule.
- Conduct work according to company policies, work procedures, and processes.
- Conform with, abide by, and re-enforce all government and health department regulations and policies.
- Flexible to some overnights and occasional weekends
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High School diploma or GED required.
- 1-3 years of general work experience required.
- Demonstrated mechanical, technical and electrical aptitude.
- Forklift certification preferred.
- Must be at least 21 years of age or older
- Valid driver’s license and a motor vehicle driving history that meets Company guidelines.
- Possess mechanical skills such as the ability to use hand tools, operate power tools.
- Possess excellent communication skills.
- Be a self-starter that can work in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrate the ability to manage multiple tasks in a professional and timely manner.
- Ability to interact with all types of individuals from different cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
- Ability to follow manufacturers’ specifications and schematics.
- Able to maintain a high level of visual attention and mental concentration for significant periods of time.
- Able to use necessary office equipment, computer software, hardware and equipment.
- Ability to do heavy lifting on a daily basis. Must be able to lift 75 lbs.
- Must be able to work standing for long periods of time.
- Must be able to work in various work environments including but not limited to heights, confined spaces and outdoors.
- Work involves walking, talking and hearing, using hands to handle, feel or operate objects. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to focus when working on small components.
