Temporary Tax Specialist
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Tax Specialist to join our Pittsburgh office on a temporary full-time basis. The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in preparing and reviewing individual, partnership, small corporation and trust income tax returns and gift tax returns, ensuring compliance with federal and state tax regulations. Experience with high-net-worth clientele a plus. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a dynamic team serving high profile clients with complex tax compliance needs.
Scope: 2 - 3 months starting in August
Temporary Full-time, On-site. Monday-Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm, occasional overtime with supervisor approval.
Wage: $65.00-95.00 per hour based on experience
Responsibilities

- →Gather and analyze financial data, including income, deductions, and distributions.
- →Collaborate with attorneys, financial advisors, and clients to obtain necessary documentation and clarify tax issues.
- →Ensure compliance with current tax laws and regulations, staying updated on relevant changes.
- →Maintain organized records of all filings and correspondence.
- →Contribute to the overall efficiency and accuracy of the tax team.
Requirements
~1 min read- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or EA designation a plus.
- Three (3) or more years of experience in preparing complex individual and trust tax returns at an accounting firm or in a professional services environment.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state tax codes.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines.
- Proficiency in tax software (e.g., ProSystem fx, Thomson Reuters ONESOURCE, Lackner, CCH Axcess [preferred], or similar).
- Expert user in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
