We currently have an exciting opportunity for Full Time Permanent Maintenance Fitter to join our operations team. Reporting to the Production Lead – Melbourne, this role is responsible for carrying out equipment installation, maintenance and repairs on machinery comprising of complex interconnected PLC pneumatic systems. General fabrication and pipe work is required. Participation is essential in related training, improvement and team activities, as well as commitment to safety, hygiene, quality assurance and conduct requirements working across both our Mulgrave and Dandenong sites.

What’s the Scoop?
- Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair complex production equipment, including pneumatic, PLC and servo-controlled systems.
- Perform preventative and reactive maintenance to minimise downtime and ensure operational efficiency.
- Install, commission and maintain plant and machinery across the site.
- Carry out welding and fabrication tasks (Oxy/Acetylene, Arc and TIG) to support maintenance and equipment repairs.
- Perform general machining operations using lathes, milling machines and other workshop equipment as required.
- Assist in the maintenance of industrial ammonia refrigeration systems.
- Support breakdown response activities and collaborate with production and maintenance teams to identify and implement solutions.
- Safely operate lifting and load-shifting equipment and follow all site safety procedures.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and utilise computerised maintenance systems.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety, quality, reliability and plant performance.
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure all work is carried out in accordance with OH&S, food safety and quality standards.
- Support the training and development of production personnel on the safe and efficient operation of equipment.
What You’ll Bring:
- Hold a general Engineering Class1 C10 Trades Certificate in Fitting and Machining, or any other trades certificate to the same level.
- Hold the relevant post trades certificate/s, or correct number of modules that relate to C8 post trades classification or be able to demonstrate capabilities to C8 level.
- Demonstrated experience diagnosing and repairing production equipment, including pneumatic, PLC and servo systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics and maintenance instructions.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety, quality and food manufacturing standards.
- Experience working both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills with a customer-focused approach.
- Basic computer skills and experience maintaining maintenance records.
- Availability to work overtime and respond to operational requirements when needed.
- Committed to continuous improvement, learning and professional development.
- Physically capable of performing the manual handling requirements of the role.
- Current driver's licence and reliable transport to travel to and from the site and respond to operational requirements when needed.
