We’re excited to be recruiting for our sister company, Lemon Platypus.

Lemon Platypus is a specialist HR systems consultancy helping small and medium-sized businesses transform how they manage their people. Lemon Platypus partner with clients to select, implement, and optimise best-in-class HR platforms, most notably HiBob, alongside Employment Hero and Rippling.

Role is to remove complexity, deliver clarity, and ensure HR systems genuinely enable growth, compliance, and great employee experiences.

This is a senior, client-facing role for an experienced HR systems professional who has already led HR system implementations specifically HiBob and is ready to own projects end to end.

As a Senior HR Systems Consultant, you will act as a trusted advisor to clients, guiding them through system design, configuration, implementation, and optimisation. You’ll bring structure, confidence, and deep product knowledge to every engagement, ensuring clients launch with a system that works for their business—not a generic setup.

This role is not about learning HR systems from scratch. We’re looking for someone who has been there, done it, understands implementation pitfalls, and knows how to translate real HR needs into clean, scalable system solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end HR system implementations, with a strong focus on HiBob, from discovery through go-live and post-launch optimisation.
  • Own requirements gathering, solution design, system configuration, data migration, testing, and launch planning.
  • Configure systems directly on behalf of clients, ensuring best-practice setup and an excellent first user experience.
  • Act as the senior point of contact, confidently managing client expectations, risks, and timelines.
  • Serve as a HiBob subject matter expert, advising clients on best-practice use of modules such as core HR, workflows, performance, time off, reporting, and integrations.
  • Stay current on platform updates and proactively recommend enhancements that improve client outcomes.
  • Collaborate closely with system providers, escalating issues, sharing feedback, and influencing continuous improvement.
  • Translate complex HR processes into efficient, scalable system workflows.
  • Identify gaps, inefficiencies, or risks in current setups and propose clear, practical solutions.
  • Support clients beyond go-live with optimisation reviews, enhancements, and adoption support.
  • Deliver confident, structured training sessions for HR teams and managers.
  • Create clear guidance and documentation that empowers clients to self-serve after implementation.
  • Build long-term, trusted relationships where clients see you as their go-to HR systems advisor.
  • Maintain clear implementation plans, configuration documentation, and decision logs.
  • Provide regular, professional status updates to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure implementations are repeatable, well-documented, and continuously improving.
  • 5+ years’ experience in HR, HR Operations, or HR Systems roles.
  • Proven, hands-on experience implementing HiBob (end-to-end), either in-house or as a consultant.
  • Strong understanding of HR processes across the employee lifecycle and how they translate into system design.
  • Demonstrated experience leading implementations independently and managing client stakeholders.
  • Experience implementing additional platforms such as Employment Hero or Rippling.
  • Consultancy or professional services experience.
  • Exposure to data migration, system integrations, and reporting frameworks.
  • You’re confident making decisions and advising clients at a senior level.
  • You balance attention to detail with the ability to see the bigger picture.
  • You communicate clearly, set expectations early, and follow through.
  • You’re structured, organised, and comfortable running multiple implementations in parallel.
