Mill General Helper

• Operation of slitting equipment and coil cars; knowledge of metal slitting processes and setups; proficient in reading micrometer
• caliper
• gauges
• tape measure; skilled in interpreting slitter schedules and using shop-floor systems; forklift and overhead crane operation certification; strong understanding of safety protocols and mandatory PPE use; ability to lift up to 100 lbs; familiarity with quality and housekeeping standards; basic computer proficiency for business systems

1. High School Diploma/equivalent
2. Prior manufacturing experience

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand for several hours (up to 8-12 hours); use hands and fingers to manipulate, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to walk; talk or hear; stoop; kneel; and crouch; The employee must regularly lift and/or move objects weighing up to 25 pounds; frequently lift and/or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Rarely will an employee have to lift and/or move objects weighing up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, color recognition, and ability to adjust focus. The essential functions of this classification include performing the following tasks:

1. →Read and apply micrometer, caliper, gages and tape measure
2. →Read and interpret slitter schedule. Understand and use shop floor system
3. →Select proper master coils to match slitter schedule
4. →Enter master coils into slitter
5. →Use of coil car, turnstile and controls for all slitter equipment
6. →Operation of all coil entry equipment and controls
7. →Proper threading of coil(s) through slitter head to re coiler.
8. →Un banding procedure
9. →Proper banding of coils
10. →Slitter setup:

Proper setup of head to match schedule; set up of rubbers, spacers, knives

1. →Proper setup of over arm and under arm separator shafts
2. →Complete knowledge of Company Safety Rules and precautions
3. →Complete knowledge of Company quality requirements
4. →Complete knowledge of Company housekeeping rules
5. →Ability to run forklift and overhead crane

1. Maintain regular and reliable attendance
2. Work cooperatively with others to ensure constructive and productive business relationships
3. Comply with all Company policies and procedures
4. Be able to understand and effectively use computerized business systems and other technology and business platforms
