bunch is building the backbone of private markets. We are enabling next-gen fund operations with one integrated system that combines secure data infrastructure, AI-powered workflows and expert fund services. If you value ownership, growth through real responsibility, and working with a thoughtful, ambitious team, this role might be for you.
We’re looking for an experienced Senior or Staff-level Product Manager to join our Accounting & Ledger team.
If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, have a strong background in fintech, accounting, or fund operations, and are passionate about building the systems of record that power financial accuracy, compliance, and investor trust — this role is for you.
As the Product Manager for Accounting & Ledger, you will own the products and workflows that form the financial system of record for funds on bunch — the general ledger, chart of accounts, journals, trial balances, valuations, and the automated close.
You’ll build the engine that turns raw transactions and fund activity into a clean, auditable, real-time ledger — the foundation that fund performance and investor reporting are built on.
This is a mission-critical position at the heart of how fund managers run their books. Your work will power the fund’s financial truth, support CFOs and Fund Controllers in closing faster and with confidence, and ensure every number downstream — from NAV to investor statements — is accurate and traceable back to source.
You’ll collaborate closely with engineering, design, and operations to bring structure and precision to a complex domain, and deliver products that set a new standard for fund accounting infrastructure.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →
Define and drive the roadmap for the ledger and accounting platform, including chart of accounts, journals, trial balances, and period close workflows.
- →
Own the General Ledger Engine – a multi-entity, multi-currency ledger that reflects the real structure of fund vehicles, SPVs, and holdings.
- →
Lead development of automated transaction ingestion and journal-entry workflows, including integrations with external systems (e.g. DATEV, SaltEdge, Konfipay) and banking/custodian feeds.
- →
Partner with engineering to design valuation logic and the data foundations that feed NAV and fund performance calculations.
- →
Translate complex accounting and fund finance requirements into clear product logic, automation, and audit trails.
- →
Collaborate with internal operations, CFOs, and fund controllers to optimise close workflows, reconciliation, and data accuracy.
- →
Ensure end-to-end data integrity, from transaction ingestion through the ledger to downstream reporting and performance outputs.
- →
Partner closely with the Reporting & Fund Performance teams to ensure ledger data feeds cleanly into investor reports and performance metrics.
- →
Define and track success metrics across adoption, data accuracy, and close-cycle efficiency.
- →
Stay ahead of emerging best practices in fund accounting, ledger technology, and regulatory requirements.
- →
Hands-on experience building or extensively working on ledger or accounting systems is required — ideally you have shipped a general ledger, either from scratch or as a core rebuild, not just integrated with one. You will be building bunch’s internal ledger from the ground up.
Deep working knowledge of double-entry accounting, chart of accounts design, journal posting logic, and financial close processes.
7+ years of product management experience, in fintech, accounting/ledger, or financial data systems.
Proven ability to manage mission-critical, data-heavy product areas with strict accuracy and compliance requirements.
Experience with accounting systems, general ledgers, chart of accounts design, or financial close workflows is a must advantageous.
Ability to translate financial and accounting complexity into intuitive software products.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills — able to collaborate with both technical and non-technical audiences.
Analytical and data-driven mindset, with an obsession for precision and traceability.
Strategic thinker with an entrepreneurial drive and comfort with ambiguity.
Experience in fast-growing or startup environments where systems and processes evolve quickly.
