Role Purpose Statement
The People and Culture Officer plays a crucial role in implementing Busara’s talent and people strategies, supporting the organization’s growth, and enhancing the employee experience. As an advisory firm, Busara operates in a consulting firm set up, managing multiple teams in different geographies. This dynamic environment requires a strong focus on people management, talent acquisition, employee development, and maintaining a positive organizational culture.
This position is responsible for implementing processes within talent acquisition and staffing, performance and talent development, employee engagement, and HR administration. The People and Culture Officer will also support promoting diversity, inclusion, and well-being across the organization. This role requires great interpersonal, organization, communication, and relationship management skills to collaborate effectively with managers, staff, and external partners.
Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities:
- Support payroll processing, ensuring timely and accurate update of relevant staff records.
- Maintain up-to-date employee files, contracts, and HRIS records including statutory registrations, benefit documentation, and changes in employment details.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, including personal information, employment history, and documentation related to hiring, transferring, promoting, and employee exits.
- Drafting of employee contracts as determined by the senior officer
- Assist with immigration documentation and coordination for foreign employees, ensuring all required paperwork is complete and submitted.
- Maintain HR databases, trackers, and employee documentation for audits, compliance, and reporting.
- Provide administrative support in policy dissemination, training logistics, and people related communications.
- Maintain employee confidence and protect organizational operations by ensuring all human resource information remains confidential.
- Ensure the HRIS is always up to date with relevant information including updating staff records, organizational chart, policies.
- Maintenance of the HRIS, including keeping track of software updates, updating the team and staff on its use, onboarding new staff onto its use and ensuring adequate backup of relevant information.
- Support in the hiring processes such as scheduling interviews, follow up on task assessments, conducting reference checks, communicating with candidates accordingly and other recruitment logistics.
