We are currently looking for a Director Of Operations for any location across our systems.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Director of Field Operations will play a key leadership role in ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation and maintenance of natural gas and liquid pipeline, storage, and compression assets within the assigned area. The area of responsibility and reporting location will be determined based on current operational areas and critical business needs that best support today’s operations, while also aligning with Boardwalk’s long-term growth plans.
Key Responsibilities:
Partner with the Regional Vice Presidents, Area Managers, and Supervisors to drive safe, reliable, and efficient operations.
Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, EPA, and company and industry standards.
Coordinate communication during pipeline, operational, and weather-related events between field operations, pipeline control, and senior leadership.
Lead emergency response activities as needed.
Support employee recruitment, selection, development, and succession planning.
Support audits and inspections and ensure timely resolution of findings.
Develop and manage annual O&M and project budgets and monitor project execution.
Prioritize capital, maintenance, and operational needs across the Region.
Coordinate the effective use of employees, equipment, and materials across Area teams.
Assess current and future staffing, equipment, and resource needs with Area Managers and Supervisors.
Support Regional Vice Presidents, Area Managers, and Supervisors with operational priorities and special initiatives.
Represent the company with customers, regulators, community leaders, and other stakeholders.
Partner with Commercial, Engineering, Construction, Legal, and other departments to execute operational priorities.
Support strategic planning and initiatives that advance regional and company objectives.
The successful candidate will be based out of one of the preferred field offices that best meets current and future business needs.
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
5–10 years of supervisory or management experience in the natural gas or liquids industry.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, particularly under pressure.
Strong safety mindset and commitment to DOT 192, FERC, EPA, and other regulatory requirements.
Knowledge of natural gas pipeline and compressor station operations.
Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal, computer, economic, and critical-thinking skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and maintain strong relationships with regulators, customers, and other stakeholders.
Self-motivated with a strong work ethic.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and situations simultaneously.
Valid driver’s license with a good driving record; ability to pass required hearing and vision exams.
Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent combination of relevant education and experience will be considered.
PREFERRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
10+ years of supervisory or management experience in natural gas transmission and storage operations.
Strong knowledge of underground storage and dehydration equipment operations and maintenance.
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
