Overview
A Credentialing Specialist’s role is to provide support to the locum tenens staffing team in a variety of capacities including, but not limited to: assisting with obtaining medical malpractice insurance approval, and assuring providers meet our Quality Assurance guidelines.
  • Reference verifications - References must be able and qualified to assess the provider’s clinical competence, have had clinical contact (or directly worked) with the provider within the last 12 months). At least one of the references is the same education level or higher.
  • Conduct Quality Assurance Reviews - Conducting license verifications, board certification verifications, SAM (System for Award Management) and OIG (Office of Inspector General) reports, verifying current certificate of insurance has been issued for assignment, verify provider is approved to work specialty required of the assignment.
  • Provide Risk Analysis Assistance - Assist with medical malpractice eligibility reviews including reviewing provider documents, verifications of education, training, licenses, certifications, valid references, etc. Assist with the review and investigation of any malpractice claims and/or disciplinary actions against each candidate.

  • Timely and accurate turnaround on required paperwork and/or documentation.
  • Ability to build strong provider and client relationships over the phone.
  • Timely follow-up on all outstanding items.
  • Consistent communication on progress with both Recruiters and Privileging Team.
  • Superb customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Flexible team player attitude and desire to grow professionally.
