About the Role
~1 min readWe are seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Lead to support the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition & Sustainment (OUSD(A&S)) within the Directorate of Business Operations (DBO). This role is central to ensuring the successful execution of a high‑visibility contract supporting senior DoD leadership, congressional stakeholders, and combatant commands.
The Senior Project Lead serves as the primary interface between contractor personnel, government leadership, and mission partners—driving operational excellence, ensuring contract compliance, and delivering high‑quality technical, financial, and analytical support in a fast‑paced headquarters environment.

Responsibilities

Lead and oversee all contract activities, ensuring full compliance with the Performance Work Statement (PWS).

Serve as the primary point of contact for DBO, A&S offices, contractor staff, and government stakeholders.

Manage, direct, and coordinate contractor personnel to ensure seamless coverage, continuity, and minimal turnover.

Provide senior‑level technical, financial, and analytical expertise supporting DBO and A&S strategic and operational priorities.

Develop and deliver high‑quality written products, briefings, and presentations for senior government officials, congressional staff, and other high‑level audiences.

Maintain deep understanding of DBO and A&S organizational structures, mission priorities, systems, and processes.

Respond effectively to dynamic, high‑tempo headquarters operations and shifting mission requirements.

Designate and oversee an alternate Project Lead to ensure continuous leadership coverage.
Requirements
~1 min readActive DoD Secret Clearance (TS/SCI may be required based on mission needs).
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution (may be waived for exceptional experience).
8+ years of experience supporting DoD/OSD or Military Department Headquarters programs, including extensive knowledge of the PPBE process.
5+ years of experience in application development, relational databases, website development, and user support.
Hands‑on experience with Defense Agency Initiative (DAI) and related systems, including:
OBIEE
Hyperion
WAWF
G‑Invoicing
Dormant Account Review – Quarterly (DAR‑Q)
Exceptional analytical, problem‑solving, communication, and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
Ability to operate effectively in a high‑visibility, senior‑level DoD environment.
Bachelor’s degree in science, technology, engineering, or a related field.
Experience supporting OSD, OUSD, or Military Department Headquarters.
Familiarity with RAID and CAC processes.
Knowledge of OSD‑level financial systems and processes.
Project Management Professional (PMP) – PMI
DAWIA Level III (Program Management or Financial Management)
Certified Defense Financial Manager (CDFM) – ASMC
ITIL Foundation or Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt or higher)
This position directly supports senior DoD leadership and plays a critical role in advancing A&S and DBO mission priorities. You will help shape decision‑making at the highest levels of the Pentagon, ensuring operational excellence, financial integrity, and strategic alignment across complex programs.
