The Cache County Treasurer's Office is accepting applications for an Accounting Clerk II. This role is essential to ensuring accurate financial reporting, the distribution of tax revenue, and seamless daily operations. 

This is a full-time benefited position, generally working Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. All benefits start on the first day! Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, 401k, Utah Retirement System, 14 paid holidays, and 18 days of Personal Leave in the first year.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Accounting & Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly balance sheets and perform daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations for bank, credit card, and petty cash accounts.

Tax Processing & Distribution: Assists in balancing, posting, and distribution of personal property taxes. Track investment interest and compile year-end state reports.

Cashiering and Revenue Collection: Receive cash and check payments over the counter, by mail, and from county departments. Post tax revenues, balance cash drawers, scan bank deposits, update ledgers, and follow up on returned checks.

Public and Professional Service: inquires via phone and in person regarding tax obligations, delinquencies, parcel information, and tax sales. Assist banks, title companies, and mortgage service providers.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience: Graduation from a high school or GED; plus two (2) years of specialized training or course background in bookkeeping, accounting, mathematics, finance or some other related field; AND Four (4) years of progressively responsible work experience performing above or related duties; OR An equivalent combination of education and experience.

Special Qualifications: Strong computer skills and experience with Excel, Word, and database software; able to operate 10-key by touch.
