OVERVIEW
Cache County is accepting applications for a Forensic Interviewer to join our Attorney/Children's Justice Center. The Forensic Interviewer conducts interviews to assist victims of personal crime and witnesses in meeting Utah and federal statutory requirements. This is a part-time position.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Conducts forensic interviews of children according to protocols to comply with Utah statutory requirements (U.C.A.67-5b-102) in coordinating a "comprehensive, multidisciplinary, nonprofit, intergovernmental response to sexual abuse of children, physical abuse of children, and other crimes involving children where the child is the primary victim or a critical witness."
Gathers relevant background information from parents/caregivers, law enforcement, and child protective services in order to plan for an effective forensic interview. Provides debriefing after interviews with parents/caregivers, law enforcement and child protective services.
Participates in the investigative staffing process; makes recommendations regarding a child's safety and ability to testify by taking legal guidelines into account and using information gathered during forensic interviews, through collateral contacts, and by reviewing assessment results.
Conducts forensic interviews of vulnerable adults in accordance with protocol. Conducts courtesy forensic interviews as requested according to protocol.
Create, maintain, and submit various records and documents including various administrative forms to ensure accurate data collection for statistical reports and other purposes.
Serve as a forensic interview specialist in court and interagency meetings; testify in court as an expert witness; provide information to judges and other criminal justice system and child protection personnel; communicate information to appropriate agency personnel to ensure follow through.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Graduation from an accredited university with a Bachelor's degree in social work, sociology, criminal justice, or a related field;
AND seven (7) years of related work experience in any of the following: investigations, crime victim advocacy, child protective services, youth counseling, or related field.
