Role Overview: The Bench technician role will play a key role in delivering precision-manufactured components that meet the rigorous demands of aerospace and defense applications. This position works closely with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure excellence

Deburr and hand-finish parts in accordance with customer specifications using established procedures, machines, and tooling.

Verify parts meet blueprint requirements and ensure they remain free from damage throughout processing.

Actively participate in the planning and execution of continuous improvement initiatives.

Support and perform cross-functional operations as needed.

Experience deburring and hand-finishing precision parts to customer specifications using appropriate procedures, machines, and tooling.

Ability to perform work, rework, and inspections while accurately maintaining

documentation and required job data.

Proficiency in coordinating daily production activities, including scheduling, planning, execution, and participation in status updates with leadership.

Working knowledge of ERP systems and ability to support cross-functional shop floor operations as needed.

Commitment to workplace organization (5S), cleanliness standards, continuous improvement initiatives, and adherence to health, safety, and environmental guidelines.

At least one year of experience deburring metal components in an aerospace manufacturing job-shop environment.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and work instructions, with safe use of standard machine shop tools.

Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and basic shop math skills, with the ability to prioritize and adapt to changing project needs.

Effective interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal), along with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and willingness to learn and support cross-functional operations.

Willingness to work long hours and weekends when needed to meet critical deadlines

Willingness to travel to customers’ locations or other Hera sites as needed

Ability to use a computer and most common software programs to complete assignments

Ability to communicate with individuals and groups in person, by phone and online

Ability to regularly lift up to 40 lbs and occasionally up to 50 lbs and remain on feet for extended periods while performing repetitive tasks.

Adherence to strict safety protocols, including use of safety glasses, hearing protection, and hard-toe footwear.

Comfortable working in an open, inclusive culture that encourages communication, support, and shared problem-solving.

Functional computer skills with strong attention to detail, accuracy, and personal responsibility for high-quality work.
