Job Summary: The Operations Supervisor is responsible for leading all aspects of 2nd shift manufacturing operations at Hera Technologies, serving as the primary point of contact for shop floor personnel while driving safety, quality, delivery, and productivity performance. This role oversees staffing, scheduling, equipment readiness, process optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives across CNC machining and composite manufacturing, ensuring production goals are met in a fast-paced aerospace environment. Reporting to the Director of Operations, the supervisor provides hands-on leadership, technical guidance, and accountability to support operational excellence and company growth.

Type: Full-time
Salary Range: $75,000 to $120,000 annually
Hours: 3:00PM to 11:30PM Monday through Friday, with overtime as needed
Location: 100% onsite at 1055 E Francis St. Ontario, CA 91761
 
Key Responsibilities:
·         Lead and develop 2nd shift manufacturing staff, including attendance, coaching, discipline, training, performance evaluations, and day-to-day task assignments across Composite Bonding, Softgoods, CNC Routers, and CNC Lasers.
·         Plan and manage production operations by determining manpower, equipment, and raw material requirements; scheduling shifts; tracking jobs and parts; forecasting project completion timelines; and providing accurate daily production reporting to leadership.
·         Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, shop cleanliness standards, and traveler/work order conformance while holding team members accountable to operational and quality expectations.
·         Oversee machining and composite assembly processes for new and existing parts, troubleshoot tooling and machine malfunctions, and collaborate with Planning and Engineering to improve ERP manufacturing templates and process controls.
·         Read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings to validate setups, sequencing, tolerances, and finished product requirements; assist with in-process inspections using precision measuring instruments and support RFQ run-time estimates.
·         Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including cost reduction, quality enhancement, equipment utilization optimization, manufacturing method improvements, preventative maintenance planning, and structured project execution with risk identification and escalation.
·         Partner with cross-functional leadership to resolve machining and composite assembly issues, conduct schedule reviews, and step in hands-on to support shop floor production when needed.
 
Minimum Qualifications:
·         Minimum 7 years of manufacturing management experience in a production environment.
·         Strong leadership presence with high initiative and self-motivation; proven ability to lead, develop, and manage diverse teams in a fast-paced setting.
·         Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, engineering drawings, and complex mechanical tooling designs, with working knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
·         Hands-on experience operating and supporting DMS and Thermwood 5-axis routers, HAAS 3-, 4-, and 5-axis mills, and Doosan Lynx lathes with live milling and sub-spindle capabilities.
·         Experience with structural bonding and fastening of composite assemblies, including TPS surface preparation and hand lay-up of prepreg materials (carbon fiber, fiberglass, phenolic, honeycomb core, and Rohacell foam).
·         Strong safety, quality, and teamwork orientation with a demonstrated track record of reliability and accountability.
·         Effective communication skills with engineering, manufacturing teams, and customers to clarify specifications and resolve technical issues.
 
Preferred Qualifications:
·         Experience with machining a wide range of metallic and engineered technical materials such as: Nomex & Aluminum honeycomb core, solid Aluminum & Metallics, Plastics, Ablative Cork, GFRP, Carbon Fiber, Phenolics etc. is strongly preferred.
·         Experience working in an aerospace, AS9100 environment.
·         Surface modeling experience a plus.
 
Physical demands:
·         Frequent standing and walking; occasional climbing and balancing on large equipment; kneeling; bending; and crouching.
·         Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
·         Must be able to navigate warehouse and reach items both high and low.
·         Use their hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.  Stand for long periods of time.  Repeat the same movements. Bend or twist their body.  The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds and occasionally lift/or move up to 50 pounds.
 
Work environment:
·         CNC Programmers and Shop Managers spend a portion of the day on their feet and must follow strict safety rules.  They wear safety glasses to protect their eyes from airborne debris. Loud noise from machinery requires use of hearing protectors.  They wear hard toe shoes or boots to protect their feet from potentially dropped objects.
