About the Role
~1 min readCapco is looking for a Database Security Consultant to strengthen our cybersecurity and technology consulting capabilities.
In this role, you will help clients protect critical databases and data platforms across on-premises, cloud and hybrid environments. You will work on topics such as database hardening, identity and access management, encryption, monitoring and secure-by-design engineering.
You combine a solid technical foundation with a consulting mindset. You enjoy analysing security challenges, translating risks into practical improvements and working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. You are motivated to further deepen your expertise in database and cloud security.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Assess and improve the security of SQL, NoSQL and cloud-native database platforms.
- →Implement security standards for hardening, configuration, patching and access management.
- →Strengthen access controls based on role-based access and least-privilege principles.
- →Support the secure management of service accounts, secrets, certificates and cryptographic keys.
- →Contribute to encryption, database logging, auditing and security monitoring.
- →Integrate database security events with SIEM and SOC platforms.
- →Embed security into provisioning, deployment, backup, recovery and data migration processes.
- →Collaborate with database administrators, platform teams, cloud architects and security specialists.
- →Translate security risks into clear and practical recommendations.
- A first proven professional experience in cybersecurity, database engineering, cloud security, platform security or a related field.
- Hands-on experience with SQL and/or NoSQL database technologies.
- Experience working in on-premises, cloud or hybrid environments.
- Knowledge of at least one cloud platform, such as Microsoft Azure, AWS or Google Cloud.
- Practical knowledge of identity and access management, least privilege, encryption, logging or monitoring.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
- A proactive, collaborative and delivery-focused mindset.
- Professional proficiency in English.
Knowledge of Dutch is a strong advantage.
