JANUS Research Group is seeking an Aviation Military Analyst with expertise in Army attack and reconnaissance aviation and the Future Aviation Tactical Ecosystem (FATE). This position supports Army Aviation capability development, future force modernization, operational analysis, and technology integration initiatives focused on next-generation aviation capabilities.

The selected candidate will provide operational and technical expertise to support Army Aviation studies, capability development, operational assessments, and modernization efforts. Responsibilities include conducting detailed operational analyses, participating in Joint Working Groups, evaluating emerging technologies, and developing technical products to inform future Army Aviation concepts and requirements.

  • Minimum 12 years of Army Aviation flight/combat operations experience.
  • Rated Army Aviator with experience in Army attack and/or reconnaissance aviation.
  • Senior Army Aviator Badge or Master Army Aviator Badge required.
  • Experience supporting flight standardization within Army attack and reconnaissance aviation organizations ranging from 35 to 600 personnel.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience supporting capability management, combat developments, or force modernization initiatives.
  • Experience planning, coordinating, executing, and facilitating Joint Working Groups.
  • Experience serving as a team lead supporting future aviation studies, operational test events, capability development, or technology evaluations.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce graduate-level technical products, including:
    • White papers
    • Concept papers
    • Operational views
    • Requirements documentation
    • Technical analyses
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience briefing technical findings to senior military and government leadership.
  • Active Secret Security Clearance.
  • Experience serving as a:
    • Standardization Instructor Pilot (SIP)
    • Instructor Pilot (IP)
    • Maintenance Examiner (ME)
    • Maintenance Test Pilot (MTP)
      supporting Army manned attack and reconnaissance aircraft.
  • Tactical operational staff experience supporting planning, training, and mission execution within Army attack, reconnaissance, or air assault organizations ranging from 400 to 2,863 personnel.
  • Experience as a contributing author of a Joint Requirements Oversight Council (JROC) approved Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System (JCIDS) document.
  • Direct participation in an Army Aviation Capability-Based Assessment (CBA) supporting attack or reconnaissance aircraft.
  • Experience supporting Headquarters, Department of the Army (HQDA), Army Futures Command, or Army Aviation capability development organizations.
  • Knowledge of future Army Aviation modernization initiatives, including the Future Aviation Tactical Ecosystem (FATE), force design, and emerging aviation technologies.
  • Experience collaborating with Joint, interagency, and Department of Defense stakeholders on capability development and operational concepts.

Responsibilities

  • Provide subject matter expertise on Army attack and reconnaissance aviation operations and future aviation capabilities.
  • Conduct operational and capability analyses supporting the Future Aviation Tactical Ecosystem (FATE) and Army Aviation modernization initiatives.
  • Analyze tactical employment of attack and reconnaissance aviation assets to identify operational capability gaps and recommend solutions.
  • Support the development of future operational concepts, capability requirements, and modernization strategies.
  • Participate in aviation studies, operational assessments, and technology evaluations supporting future Army Aviation capabilities.
  • Plan, coordinate, and facilitate Joint Working Groups, Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), and other collaborative forums.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements to Army Aviation operational effectiveness.
  • Support Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System (JCIDS) activities and capability development efforts.
  • Prepare white papers, concept papers, operational views, technical analyses, and requirements documentation.
  • Collaborate with government and contractor personnel supporting Army Aviation capability development and future force planning.
  • Review and contribute to technical documentation to ensure high-quality deliverables meeting government requirements.
  • Produce graduate-level analytical products requiring minimal revisions prior to government submission.
