Requirements
~1 min readThe Senior IT Specialist provides subject matter expertise in IT support across the organization, ensuring efficient management and implementation of information technology systems. This role involves developing business cases, managing knowledge, and ensuring information assurance. The Senior IT Specialist will lead projects encompassing the full spectrum of information systems management for the Command.
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience:
- Minimum seven (7) years of IT support experience.
- An additional four (4) years of IT experience at APG NEC or CPE/PM organizations may substitute for the Bachelor's degree.
- Certifications: Relevant IT certifications are required.
- Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in project management and leadership.
- In-depth knowledge of information technology policies and practices.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Expert Analysis and Evaluation: Conduct thorough analysis of IT matters and provide recommendations for the initiation and development of IT projects.
- →Project Leadership: Oversee IT projects, including the review, analysis, and validation of electronic business operation tools and the implementation of IT resources (hardware/software).
- →Integration Initiatives: Lead website design, database development, and other business systems integration efforts.
- →Interagency Collaboration: Interface with higher headquarters and other command sites to facilitate the procurement and implementation of information systems technology.
- →Policy Assessment and Implementation: Assess and implement IT policies governing IT activities, providing guidance to management, staff, and customers.
- →Audit and Compliance: Conduct audits of IT programs and policies, developing business cases to recommend enhancements for system efficiency through emerging technologies.
- →Technical Services Delivery: Apply rigorous IT policies, principles, and practices in delivering technical services throughout the Command.
- →Leadership Roles: Serve as the Lead Information Management Officer and Telephone Control Officer, representing the organization’s interests to service providers.
- →Knowledge Management and Business Process Design: Lead projects focused on knowledge management and the design of business processes.
- This position may require occasional travel to other command sites or headquarters for meetings and project coordination.
