At Cape Fear Habitat for Humanity’s ReStores you will help people find affordable solutions to their home goods needs, keep reusable items out of landfills, and generate funds to help expand opportunities for affordable housing in the Cape Fear Region.
Cape Fear Habitat for Humanity’s ReStores are non-profit home improvement stores and donation centers that sell new and gently used furniture, appliances, home accessories, building materials and more to the public at a fraction of the retail price. These recycled goods stay out of the landfills and the profits further Habitat’s mission of bringing people together to build homes, communities, and hope.

Responsibilities:
The ReStore Merchandising and Pricing Clerk ensures that buyers and donors receive professional, timely, and efficient service. The Clerk is responsible for cleaning, pricing and arranging merchandise in the store. Reporting to the ReStore Manager, the clerk works with other staff members to ensure merchandise is priced competitively and displayed for customers.
Ogden ReStore (7330 Market Street, Wilmington, NC 28411)
Part-time (20 hours per week; Saturday availability is a must)
Duties
- Clean and price merchandise at a minimum of 50% off retail - may require research to ensure adequate and competitive pricing
- Neatly arrange merchandise in store and maintain seasonal end caps and other displays
- Represents ReStore in a professional manner when dealing with buyers, donors, volunteers, fellow staff members, and the general public both in person and over phone
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting/assisting customers while shopping in the ReStore
- Answer customer questions and provide information on stores policies and procedures
- Stocks and maintains merchandise in store, adequately and safely
- Help maintain a clean, well-organized store and facilitate a safe and secure working and shopping environment
- Encourages volunteer program success by contributing to a positive, supportive atmosphere and encouraging volunteer engagement
- Any other assignments/tasks deemed necessary by ReStore management
- Assists donors with receipts
- Ensures work area is cleaned at shift end
- When necessary, assists cashiers
Requirements
- Be committed to the Cape Fear Habitat for Humanity’s mission
- Retail experience is a plus, but not necessary
- Excellent customer service skills
- High School graduate or higher
- Basic mathematical skills
- Must be able to lift 25+ lbs., stand, squat, bend, and walk on a consistent basis
- Satisfactory results on criminal background check and pre-employment drug screen
