Décor Team Member

What you’ll do:
Reporting to the Merchandising & Décor Manager and Décor Assistant, the Décor Team Member is responsible for supporting in the visual execution of décor, theming, merchandising, and event setups and take-downs across all Capilano Group properties from start to finish while working as part of the Sales and Marketing team.

This role ensures every visual element reflects Capilano’s brand standards while supporting the setup of signature events such as Canyon Frights, Canyon Lights, Love Lights and Hoppy Heights.

General Duties
• Assist in building and installing innovative visual displays and immersive sets, ensuring they align with brand 
standards, (painting many mediums, carving foam, etc.),
• Setting up décor at the park for Canyon Frights, Canyon Lights, Love Lights, and other seasonal events/holidays, as 
directed,
• Setting up décor for seasonal pop-ups at other properties as needed,
• Take-down of décor at the park for signature events, and other seasonal events/holidays, as directed,
• Lift, move, and work on ladders of various heights,
• Meet weekly with the Merchandising & Décor Manager to review tasks and plan for projects,
• Maintain a professional attitude with a positive, solution-based approach,
• All other duties as required. 

Qualifications
• 1-2 years of experience in set decoration, event coordination, or brand storytelling (experience in themed 
events or hospitality preferred),
• Ability to work on multiple tasks in a busy environment with flexibility to meet constantly changing demands,
• Strong communications skills, both written and verbal,
• A keen eye for detail and visual aesthetics,
• Ability to follow detailed instructions,
• Ability to handle physical workload,
• Ability to work well on a team.

Considerations
The ideal candidate must be able to work a variety of shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays, to meet the needs of the business, Must be able to work outside with varying weather conditions (ex. Extreme Heat, Extreme Cold, Rain, Snow). They will need to be comfortable working with handheld tools, lifting & carrying up to 40lbs,and lifting & climbing a ladder-- ideally must not be averse to heights,

Wage range for this role is $22.00-$25.00 per hour, depending on the candidate's skill & experience. This is a seasonal, part-time contract position based on-site at our North Vancouver location.
