About the Role

Capita is a Registered Investment Advisor committed to delivering exceptional, personalized financial planning for our clients. Our Centralized Planning Team provides deep, complex planning support to financial advisors and their clients across a wide range of financial scenarios.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytically driven analyst to join our team. In this role, you will partner directly with financial advisors to support complex household planning engagements, collaborate with our tax division, and help build and maintain the internal tools and processes that power the Capita Experience. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your planning and technical skills in a rigorous, collaborative, and client-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

Client & Advisor Support

  • Partner with financial advisors to analyze and develop planning strategies for households with unique or
    complex financial situations.
  • Participate in and present findings at client meetings, communicating complex financial concepts in a
    clear, accessible manner.
  • Consistently deliver the high-quality, personalized Capita Experience in every engagement.
  • Financial Planning & Tax Collaboration.
  • Support the tax division with planning-related analysis, including tax projection modeling, income optimization, and scenario analysis.
  • Assist in the preparation of client tax returns in coordination with Capita’s tax division.
  • Analyze client situations spanning investment management, retirement, estate, insurance, and tax planning.

Tools, Technology & Training

  • Build, maintain, and enhance internal financial planning tools in Excel and other platforms.
  • Train financial advisors on planning software, tools, and best practices used at Capita.
  • Identify opportunities to improve planning workflows and processes through technology and innovation.
  • Test and evaluate new financial planning software being considered for adoption at Capita, providing structured feedback to inform implementation decisions.
  • Maintain thorough documentation and ensure all work adheres to the standards of a highly regulated RIA
    environment.

Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Financial Planning, or a closely related field.
  • 1–2 years of experience working in Financial Planning.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including financial modeling and data analysis.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to present technical content simply and confidently to clients.
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and solve complex problems in regulated environments.
  • Comfortable working in a collaborative, fast-paced team setting.

Preferred

  • Knowledge of personal income tax planning, tax return analysis, or prior experience supporting a tax practice.
  • Experience with financial planning platforms such as Nitrogen, Holistiplan, or similar tools.

Licensing Certifications

Series 65 or Series 66 license is preferred. Candidates who do not currently hold this license will be expected to obtain it within 12 months of hire. Capita will support you in this process. Pursuit of CFP or CPA is a plus.

Who You Are:

  • A strategic thinker who enjoys working through ambiguous, multi-faceted planning problems
  • Technically proficient and eager to leverage software and data to deliver better client outcomes
  • A clear, confident communicator who can translate complexity into actionable guidance
  • Someone who takes pride in accuracy, thoroughness, and doing the right thing for clients
  • Energized by collaboration, you thrive alongside advisors and colleagues
