About the role

Christians Against Poverty (CAP) is looking for a motivated team player to join our dynamic and collaborative Partner Services and Support team. As the New Clients Coordinator, you will be the first point of contact for people experiencing money chaos across Aotearoa.

You will confidently manage all caller enquiries providing effective support and ensuring clients are well set up for their journey out of financial hardship.

Key areas of responsibility include:

  • Manage all enquiries received, including incoming phone calls, emails and website enquiries from callers
  • Provide clear and accurate information and advice about CAP’s services
  • Build and maintain positive relationships, collaborating effectively to ensure both clients and coaches are well set up for their first interactions
  • Navigate difficult conversations with professionalism, accurately assessing caller needs to determine service suitability and escalate or refer where required
  • Accurately capture data and contribute to reporting on KPIs


About you

You’re confident in your ability to communicate effectively with all enquirers of Debt Help and clients, to enable the greatest possible impact for whānau experiencing money chaos in Aotearoa.

You are a courageous and intentional person, who challenges yourself and others. You don’t opt to take a path of least resistance. Instead, you leverage your skills and expertise to do what is right for the kaupapa/purpose and the people you’re serving.

You’ll also bring relevant experience for the role

  • A strong personal alignment with the foundational Christian philosophy, organisational identity, culture, and values of CAP
  • 1-2 years proven experience working in client-centred service delivery and/or with community-based social issues 
  • Familiarity with financial institutions, systems and practices in Aotearoa 
  • Strong numeracy and literacy skills  
  • Ability to confidently work with vulnerable people and engage with people from different backgrounds & cultures
  • Strong communication, both written and verbal, in both formal and informal contexts 
  • Sound technical skills, and experience using database and information systems 
  • Ability to work and lead comfortably and well in an NFP organisation that seeks to honour Te Tiriti o Waitangi in the way work is done
