The Corporate Finance Unit hosts the financial and information management components for the broader organization. Along with the traditional corporate accounting, this unit provides financial and professional expertise and oversight to HQ operations in an efficient and effective manner. This unit is a key strategic resource in budgeting, forecasting and business analysis and compliance.
Reporting to the Director, Corporate Finance, the Controller, Financial Services oversees financial operations and financial transaction management. This position will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate financial records for the organization, appropriate internal controls are in place and functioning as expected, timely payments, and efficient financial operations. In addition, the Controller will manage the year end audit and, in collaboration with the Director, Corporate Finance, will prepare external financial statements. Finally, the Controller will also be responsible to ensure compliance with various regulatory requirements related to the financial management of the organization. This position requires strong financial acumen, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
WHAT YOU BRING
Proven experience in financial management and accounting, with a minimum of 5 years in a similar role.
Knowledge of nonprofit accounting, fund accounting, and project-based financial management.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in financial software and tools (e.g., PeopleSoft, Excel).
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team and collaborate with different departments.
Commitment to CARE's mission and values.
Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field; CPA or similar certification is a plus (or equivalent combination of education and work experience).
WHAT WOULD MAKE YOU EXTRAORDINARY
Spanish or French language skills
Experience with PeopleSoft
REQUIREMENTS
Promote and maintain an organizational culture that advances gender equality, reduces power abuse and inequalities, and fosters trust and safety.
Create an environment within CARE's workplaces, programming, and communities where CARE works that is free from sexual harassment, sexual abuse and sexual exploitation and child abuse (SHEA-CA).
Ensure high standards of prevention and response measures for SHEA-CA are in place consistent with the CARE International (CI) Safeguarding Policy and Safeguarding Code of Conduct.
WHAT WE OFFER
Starting salary between $103,000 – 110,000
