Landscape Architect

Landscape architects design, plan, and manage outdoor spaces—ranging from parks and residential areas to urban campuses—by blending art, science, and ecology. They create functional, sustainable environments while managing stormwater, selecting plants, and preparing site plans. They are licensed professionals who often lead projects, including site analysis, grading, and construction oversight.

Key responsibilities include:

• Design & Planning: Developing master plans for public parks, green roofs, residential neighborhoods, and downtown streetscapes.
• Environmental Stewardship: Restoring natural habitats (wetlands, streams) and creating solutions for climate adaptation.
• Technical Design: Creating landscape grading plans, managing stormwater runoff, and designing infrastructure like paving and walls.
• Collaboration: Working with civil engineers, architects, and city planners to integrate outdoor spaces with buildings.
