Schwab Retirement Plan Services (SRPS) is a leading provider of bundled retirement plan services for mid-to-large companies. The Payroll Analysis & Consulting team partners with plan sponsors, internal partners, and payroll vendors to design, build, test, and support payroll integrations that enable accurate plan administration and a strong client experience.

 

Directly supports complex payroll integrations and non-standard plan designs that carry higher operational and financial risk if not implemented accurately. Work impacts client experience, plan accuracy, and downstream recordkeeping processes.

 

Operates with a high degree of independence, managing assigned work and projects end-to-end with minimal oversight. Responsible for identifying issues, driving resolution, and engaging appropriate partners when needed.

 

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a senior-level specialist responsible for complex payroll integration work, including custom specifications and non-standard plan features.
  • Create and support custom specifications (Inbound/Outbound) and custom layout programming.
  • Support non-standard plan features (e.g., alternate vesting dates, partial loan payments, customized first loan payment dates).
  • Conduct extensive research (process report review, plan specs, payroll design).
  • Own and deliver small projects independently (file indicator updates, source additions, integration changes).
  • Perform thorough and detailed test file audits, including custom scenarios.
  • Act as SME and support team development outside day-to-day work.
  • Participate and lead calls related to programming issues and assigned projects.
  • Assess data needs vs. wants prior to go-live.

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and OneNote
  • Understand role boundaries and engage appropriate partners.
  • Operate with consultant mindset; not responsible for formal audit review.
  • Maintain accountability for quality and timelines.

In addition to the salary range, this role is eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
