  • Responsible for Power Systems Division rental fleet while at the Altorfer shop. Responsible for all units (generators and other types of equipment such as: compressors, chillers, a/c, heaters, cables, distribution and more).
  • Responsible for rental fleet unit check in & check out, unit readiness (functional runs and appearance), and basic troubleshooting/preventative maintenance.  
  • Provide exceptional customer service by communicating and interacting with all customers to ensure we’re meeting their expectations.
  • Deliver and assist with loading & unloading project components on the customer’s job site.
  • Assist with set up, basic troubleshooting and repairs if needed.
  • Coordinate with other service & part sources (Non-CAT specific) when needing to order certain unit parts or services to repair/fix returned fleet units. 
  • Complete rental documentation for customer’s unit status.
  • Responsible for completing rental paperwork for Power Systems records and maintaining unit status.
  • May perform other related duties as requested and/or assigned.

Requirements

  • Completion of formal technical training program or minimum of three years’ relevant experience is preferred.
  • Previous experience working in a field related to electronic diesel engines, fuel systems, generators, air compressors, heaters, air conditioning etc. is preferred.
  • Computer literacy required. Must be familiar with programs such as Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel and various CAT Programs.
  • Ability to follow all safety rules and wear proper safety equipment.
  • Excellent planning & organizational skills are needed.
  • Must take initiative, be team oriented and willing to adapt to change.
  • Ability to respond to callouts, work overtime and weekends when needed.
  • Excellent communication skills (written, e-mail, and verbal) are required.
  • Must have your own basic tools.
  • CDL preferred but not required.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including overtime, weekends, and holidays when required to support business and customer needs.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with clean driving record. This includes no more than 2 minor violations within the past 3 years and no major violations within the past 5 years (Motor Vehicle Report will be performed on final candidate).

This position will work in a field/shop environment and at Customer jobsites. May on a continuous basis walk, bend and lift up to 75lbs. Will be required to wear appropriate safety equipment (IE- Safety glasses or side shields, hearing protection, etc.) for a given situation. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high. Must be flexible to work varying schedules and hours as needed. Occasional travel may be required.
