Research Associate, Associate Principal

• →Support the Office of Critical Technologies as it guides and supports modern research and analysis of strategic biotechnology initiatives.
• →Advise top Pentagon leadership on biotechnology issues
• →Work to evaluate and secure cutting-edge technology essential to the modernization of national strategy in defense.
• →Represent USD R&E on Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and participate in Government-approved conferences and forums in addition to specific USD R&E projects.
• →Assist, prepare and conduct meetings for current Biotechnology issues.
• →Conduct biotechnology research analysis.
• →Develop and coordinate concepts and requirements for the application of current and emerging technologies as they apply to DoD's R&E program.
• →Assist and prepare presentations and reports to DoD leadership and outside DoD.
• →Track the department-wide budget for efforts aligning with Biotechnology.
• →Maintain and update Biotechnology modernization roadmaps, coordinate roadmaps with key stakeholders.
• →Make recommendations to the development of Concepts of Operations (CONOPS) pertinent to mission needs and technical capabilities.

• • 10 years of experience of engineering, biotechnology, and Research, Development, Test and Evaluation (RDT&E)
  • Master’s degree in STEM and minimum of 5-years recent experience in biotechnology or an MBA degree
  • TS/SCI Clearance
  • Excellent writing, communication and briefing

  Previous experience with:

  • Department of Defense RDT&E mission and processes.
  • Engineering, analysis of alternatives, integration, requirements, and testing.
  • Biotechnology programs.
  • Biological and biotechnology experimentation
  • Experimentation of biological effects for RF and directed energy weapons
  • RF and directed energy capabilities.

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $165,000.00/Yr. - USD $185,000/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
